A new trailer for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has dropped along with some details about the game’s release.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, set to release later this year, is a sequel to the 2004 cult classic Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines. The original featured deep RPG elements, including flexible builds, faction alliances, and more. Bloodlines 2 plans to take these elements to the next level.
Set in Seattle, players have to navigate a treacherous underworld full of different factions and intriguing characters. Promotions for the game boast an engaging story, even though the story is still determined by the player’s choices. Every choice you make in terms of your build, moral choices, etc. will affect how you experience Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2.
This new trailer demonstrates some of these promises, although it is mostly cinematic in nature. The trailer is titled “Come Dance,” and, as its name implies, there’s quite a bit of dancing. We see vampires boogieing their way through gruesome and disturbing situations. The trailer certainly highlights the dark yet eccentric tone that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is going for.

There is some limited gameplay footage. We see the character from a first-person perspective traversing the rooftops, indicating that the city can be explored in multiple ways. We also see some powers that can be used in combat. There’s a powerful blast that blows opponents back as well as an ability that summons bats that swarm your enemies. You can also telepathically steal people’s weapons in combat. Clearly, how you approach each combat situation can vary wildly.
There are references to more subtle playstyles. For example, we witness the seduction of a human in a nightclub by a female vampire. Charm and temptation are valid gameplay choices in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. After all, it doesn’t matter how you do it, but you have to feed. Although it may have happened in a cinematic, it references what will be a gameplay mechanic.
With this trailer came news about Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2’s release current and next-gen consoles. If you purchase the game for Xbox One, you will receive an optimized copy of the game for Xbox Series X for free via Smart Delivery. This allows people to purchase Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 when it releases instead of holding off for a copy for the next generation. It’s a situation that benefits players and developers. Currently, there is no system like Smart Delivery for the PS4 and PS5.
