Five Days at Memorial has released its first trailer, showing off the Apple TV+ series with Vera Farmiga, based on the events of Hurricane Katrina at Memorial Medical Center and Dr. Anna Pou, who Farmiga plays. The series hits the platform on August 12th.
The upcoming drama will be based on the book of the same name by Pulitzer-winning journalist Sheri Fink. The series will be executive produced and written by John Ridley (12 Years a Slave) and Carlton Cuse (Bates Motel). They will direct some episodes with Wendey Stanzler (Rebel).
Before reaching Ridley and Cuse, it was up to be adapted into a movie by Lady Bird, The Social Network, and No Country for Old Men producer Scott Rudin. Rights then went to Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story) for American Crime Story: Katrina, but it did not pan out. Now, after hopping from owner to owner, it will finally have a home.
