A Virginia farm stand owner speculates that her neighbors “hate our farm stand.” Why? As she shares with her audience, they blast music every time she comes up to the farm stand to restock and check on things. Now, she’s showing her audience what they deal with as they try to run their stand in a rural area.
Catie (@thebachelorfarmstand) owns a homestead and farm stand in rural Virginia. Her stand garners a lot of attention from locals. When she visits to restock the stand, she says her nearby neighbors exhibit “weird” behavior. According to her, they start blasting strange, meditation-style music. Catie shares that the music always “starts five minutes after we get up here.”
Because of the timing, she assumes her neighbors aren’t happy about the stand and are trying to drown Catie and her family out. But she finds this odd, as she says they have “an acre or more between us.” Therefore, her neighbors really can’t hear anything Catie and her family are doing at their stand and there’s no commotion. Catie said the music is pretty loud and they have “outdoor speakers,” which makes it even louder.
Catie records while she’s at her farm stand with her children. She tells her audience she was setting up things at her stand for a local “farm stand crawl” to bring in visitors. While there, the neighbors started blasting their music again. She tells her audience, “You can kind of hear it in the background” and lets them listen for themselves. As she records, she smiles at the camera, confused about why this keeps happening. Catie has concluded that the neighbors just don’t like their stand.

Commenters shared their reactions and opinions on Catie’s video regarding what she deals with at her stand. One commenter suggested, “Call in a noise complaint or walk over and talk to them.” Another commenter added, “Maybe they are helping your customers to relax while they enjoy your goodies!”
Some commenters agreed the behavior is strange, while others disagreed. One commenter shared, “Farm stands are amazing. But I do empathize with neighbors because they didn’t sign up for the extra traffic and commotion that farm stands cause. They moved out to the country for a reason.” To this, one commenter sarcastically replied, “Oh man, that sounds like an absolute nightmare to me. I can’t imagine moving out to the country to get away from people, and then my next-door neighbor decides to do a farm stand. Oh man, that sounds absolutely horrible.” As her video gains popularity, commenters keep sharing their opinions and suggesting how she should handle it.
