The Amazon Prime Video series The Boys, based on the comic book of the same name, is in its third season on the streamer. Season 3 of The Boys releases episodes weekly on the streaming service with a total of six episodes to date. *** SPOILERS AHEAD*** After last week’s episode, Herogasm, a lot of fighting went down, and Starlight(Erin Moriarty) went on Instagram live to publicly out Homelander(Antony Starr) and Vought and denounce her name hero name “Starlight” and leave ‘The Seven’ for good. The “Super Hero company” in the series, Vought, has social media accounts, including their Instagram page and Twitter. The satirical accounts post as if the actions happening in The Boys on a weekly basis is real. The Vought social media accounts posted earlier today with a statement from Homelander regarding what Starlight/Annie January has done.
Recap of Last Week’s Episode of The Boys Season 3
At the end of last week’s episode of The Boys Season 3, Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), Hughie(Jack Quaid), and Soldier Boy(Jensen Ackles) leave the scene after Soldier Boy blacks out and blasts the entirety of “Herogasm.” Keep in mind, at this point, Billy and Hughie are on “temporary V” and have powers for 24 hours after taking it. Last week’s episode showed us Homelander in a physical fight for the first time and not just terrorizing everyone and hurting civilians. This is also the first time we’ve seen Homelander almost be taken out as he actually, for a second, was held to the ground by Billy, Hughie, and Soldier Boy.
You can see fear in his Homelander’s eyes as he just got the worst beating of his life, but then he bursts quickly through the ceiling, flying away. In all three seasons of The Boys, Homelander has never had to run away (metaphorically), but this time, he was close to being done for and fled. We see him later in the episode staring in the mirror with a bruise on his face making it known that the “untouchable hero” is, in fact, capable of getting hurt. This fact makes Homelander grow even more hatred for the part of him that’s human.
Back to the scene of the carnage, many people and supes are hurt, and MM(Laz Alonso) and Starlight decide to stay and help everyone. Annie decides she is done with being part of ‘The Seven’ and having to lie for the sake of Vought, in fear of Homelander. Annie went on Instagram live to report the deaths and harm caused at the TNT Twins’ house. Before MM starts the Live, Starlight says, “Homelander helped make me America’s sweetheart. He’s going to regret that.” Annie goes on to apologize for not coming forth sooner with the truth. She exposes Vought and Homelander and warns them about what possibly happened to Maeve(Dominique McElligot). You can watch Starlight/Annie’s “Instagram live” from Episode 6 below.

Starlight/Annie January seems to be in great danger from Homelander, who, regarding Vought’s social media post, will come after her with a vengeance after reaching his most significant breaking point this season and indeed losing his mind.
Many of The Boys fans commented below the post with hashtags like #voughtliedpeopledied and #IStandWithStarlight, while others commented, “Still rooting for #Homelight.” This post sets us up for just a taste of what’s to come this Friday when The Boys Season 3 Episode 7 releases.
