Have you ever wanted to run around a brightly colored world as a fox wielding a sword? Have you ever wanted to explore lost ruins as an ax-wielding bear? Well, Vulpine from Clockwork Giant Games is making that dream a reality! The Kickstarter for the project is live right now and is currently just $7,000 short of its overall goal.
Vulpine is a “charming open-world game where you survive as ridiculously well-armed animals.” You can choose to play solo or with a pack of friends as you explore the colorful environments to “hunt for food, gather resources, and search for signs of lost civilization.” As of right now, you can choose to play as a fox, bear, or a rabbit. However, their Kickstarter goals have some pretty amazing possibilities.
As of this writing, the Vulpine Kickstarter has been live for twelve days and has already raised over $15,000. With an ultimate goal of $22,000 and 23 days left in the crowdfunding campaign, things are looking promising for Clockwork Giants’ first commercial release. There are tiers of donations ranging from $1 to $450 with incentives ranging from early access keys to hand-painted figurines. Because of the Kickstarter campaign, a playable capybara was unlocked due to 50 people backing the project within the first 48 hours. If you head to Clockwork Giants’ Twitter page, it might be possible to unlock a playable red panda as well!
Clockwork Giant Games, owned and ran by two brothers, got their start in 2013. Vulpine started as a project for a “7 Day FPS” game jam; the game, Vulpine 101, was created and the brothers have continued to work on it ever since.
Vulpine‘s Kickstarter will end on Tuesday, February 20th, 2018; so, you still have plenty of time to back this bright and charming game! As of now, the game is set to release for Early Acces on Mac and PC in the near future.
