Tusk Thumper Doma is one of the most troublesome and annoying enemies to fight in Warframe. It just so happens that you need to kill one if you want a hefty 7,000 points of progression in Nora’s Nightwave for this week (at the time of writing). And while the game does have its own instructions on how to complete this Nightwave objective, you’re going to need something more detailed if you want to find Tusk Thumper Doma in Warframe.

Where Exactly to Find Tusk Thumper Doma

Yes, Tusk Thumper Doma appears in the Plains of Eidolon map on Earth, but it’s a big place. The enemy, while large, is somewhat rare and trouble to so seek.

If you want to waste less time finding Tusk Thumper Doma in the Plains of Eidolon on Earth, here are some pointers to remember:

  • Pick Level 5 or 6 Bounties from Konzu before heading out to the Plains of Eidolon. This way, you lower the chances of spawning a regular Tusk Thumper.
  • Make sure you’re hunting it during the daytime. Tusk Thumper Doma only appears during the daytime.
  • Equip your Archwing and fly moderateley high (just above trees) to search for Tusk Thumper Doma. Don’t bother looking for it on foot.
  • Beware of other Tusk Thumper types. You specifically want Tusk Thumper Doma, so ignore the following types:
    • Tusk Thumper Bull
    • Narmer Thumper Doma
    • Regular Tusk Thumper

Most of these Tusk Thumpers look alike, so you’re going to have to rely on their name to distinguish them. Thankfully, the game has a nameplate for its enemies. You might have to squint a bit, however; the font is quite small.

All of them roam around the Plains, so pinpointing the exact location is difficult.

How to Defeat Tusk Thumper Doma

Finding Tusk Thumper Doma is just half the battle. The game will also tell you how to defeat it by firing off its leg plates off and then going for the exposed joints.

However, your weapon of choice is a defining factor in whether you’re going to beat Tusk Thumper Doma or run crying back to Cetus to replenish ammo. Again, here are some tips on how to efficiently hunt Tusk Thumper Doma:

  • Use precise, hit-scan weapons against the leg plates and the joints. Don’t use AoE weapons like rocket launchers or grenade launchers. You want the most accurate guns here like semi-auto rifles or sniper rifles.
  • Melee doesn’t work well. Too hard to aim for the leg plates and the joints.
  • Bring an “immortal” Warframe that can shrug off damage and incoming enemy fire. The Tusk Thumper Doma typically attracts nearby Grineer. Consider this list of tanky Warframes:
    • Revenant
    • Rhino
    • Nezha
    • Hildryn
  • Tusk Thumper Doma can disappear or move away if you’re not doing enough damage or are invisible, so avoid invisible Warframes.

In hindsight, hunting Tusk Thumper Domas in Warframe is one of the easiest ways to progress the Nightwave. Don’t let this opportunity go by.
