A DoorDash driver in Washington is under fire after a customer accused them of failing to communicate properly with her. As a result, they did not deliver her food to the correct address, even after she tried multiple times to explain the location of her door. Fortunately, the customer claims she had her order redelivered by another driver, but a good handful of online users were furious that this could even have happened.
The customer’s story was shared on r/doordash by MuchLavishness, who claims that she “never thought it would be this hard to tell the driver they didn’t deliver to the right door.” On top of poor communication between her and the driver, she said the DoorDasher took a picture without the door number, leaving her clueless as to where the food was.
Before the Comment Section Was Locked, Redditors Slammed the DoorDash Driver
Unfortunately, the post’s comment section was locked due to “political comments” that violated the subreddit’s rules. Though beforehand, plenty of people were still able to express their thoughts and distaste for the driver. “I’m sorry, but that driver chose not to understand. No matter what language you speak, you should be able to find an apartment,” remarked a user.
The commenter continued, arguing that the way the DoorDash driver improperly took the photo proved their carelessness about the order. Another Redditor claimed their 9-year-old child could communicate better with the customer. “I’m constantly amazed at how these people are even legally allowed to operate a vehicle,” they exclaimed in disbelief.
Some criticized his alleged inability to understand the customer. “Yes we’re diverse but not knowing English in the US is ridiculous,” sighed one user. “These people don’t work these jobs because they like it, they work these jobs because they’re unable to handle anything else,” wrote a second. Several harsher comments ended up being deleted by mods.
On the flip side, a few commenters did scold MuchLavishness for posting her story about this driver, even though her order situation was eventually resolved. “I paid to have it delivered,” she responded, arguing that previous drivers had never given her trouble until this one.
