With the release of Armored Core 6 coming soon, many players are starting to speculate as to what the game has to offer. While some are very excited about the high-octane gameplay and gorgeous set pieces, others are looking forward to smaller elements. This includes things like lore, story, and of course, the excellent voice cast. However, not every player going into Armored Core 6 is familiar with the series. For many, this will be their first entry, which can lead to a little initial intimidation. Luckily, between tons of gameplay footage shown so far and previous entries, it shouldn’t be too hard to become accustomed to the mech combat game. Here are some ways you can prepare yourself for the upcoming release of Armored Core 6.

Armored Core 6 Can Be Difficult to Prepare For

Being the first Armored Core entry in 10 years, it’s easy to see how many players may not feel prepared. The easiest way to get into the newest Armored Core entry is to take it piece by piece from the beginning. Armored Core 6 is a mech-based, vehicular combat game that tasks players with building mechs and completing missions. Players will have a large array of customization options, including unique weapons and parts, allowing for unique adaptations to suit your tastes. Once you’re finished, you will set off on various missions, which involve fast-paced combat with other mechs.

Playing Previous Games May Help Prepare for Armored Core 6

Though Armored Core 6 is releasing soon, one of the best ways to get a feel for the series is to check out previous installments. Some great options for slower-based gameplay are Armored Core 3 alongside other earlier entries. These will give you the perfect opportunity to get a feel for the roots of the series and what it means to play an Armored Core game. For faster-paced gameplay, Armored Core 4 kicks the series up a notch. Armored Core 6 gameplay speed on release is said to fall somewhere between these two styles, so playing both may make for an easier time adjusting. However, most new Armored Core entries have little relation to each other in terms of story. So, if you’re playing to catch up on the story, know that Armored Core 6 is more or less a soft reboot.

Knowing Your Options Is Essential to Survival

Another great thing to do to prepare is to know your Armored Core 6 playstyle options. Having such a large list of various customization options can feel a bit overwhelming. However, by checking everything out beforehand, it’ll help you decide on what you want to work towards while playing. For weapons, players can choose from categories including Energy weapons, Explosive weapons, Kinetic Weapons, and Melee weapons. Each of these will provide unique benefits, so players will want to look through to see which choices suit their playstyle. Additionally, multiple Mech Class options are available, including Bipedal, Reverse-Joint Bipedal, Tetrapod, and Treads. This will influence many things about your mech, so choosing the right option for you is important.

Understanding the importance of upgrading your mech between missions is paramount to success in Armored Core 6. Although this goes against some player’s usual style, the game is designed in a way where you need to be constantly updating your builds to succeed. This includes paying attention to every available change for your Armored Core, and not just the cool upgrades like weapons. Changing things like engines, boosters, defensiveness systems, arms, and more will aid in your Armored Core 6 journey.

Finally, having a solid grasp of the main gameplay loop of Armored Core 6 should help players feel more prepared. In the game, you’ll be completing missions of various lengths for Credits. These can be spent to upgrade and enhance your mech, which will allow you to take on even more difficult missions. Essentially, you’ll be feeding a lot of time and energy into building and customizing your Armored Core.

In the end, with so much content in Armored Core 6, it can be difficult to feel prepared before release. Due to the absurd amount of customization, it may take new players a while to get a hang of things. However, by trying out some older entries, players may get a good idea of what to expect. Additionally, if players don’t have the time for that, doing a little research before diving in wouldn’t hurt. However, if the game seems at all intimidating and beginner-unfriendly, there’s no need to worry. Even with minimal preparation, Armored Core 6 should be a good time for all. However, if you want to prepare for the release of Armored Core 6, these are some great things to try.
