While it is often tricky to obtain insider information about a game studio’s plans or upcoming releases, publicly posted job listings will often provide some speculative information we otherwise wouldn’t have known. Incidentally, WB Games Montreal, the developer of the highly anticipated Gotham Knights, has announced on Twitter that the studio is offering a 3C game designer position that will be “responsible for designing and driving development of player characters for a third-person open-world action game.” This job could very well be assigned to the development of Gotham Knights. However, the fact that the studio is allegedly working on two DC games is not new news. So with fingers crossed, this job listing could be the beginning revelation of more updates about WB Games Montreal’s next future project.
For those unfamiliar with the term, a 3C game designer is primarily in charge of the “Character, Controls, and Camera” aspects of a game’s development. Knowing that WB Games Montreal was best known for developing the well-received Batman: Arkham Origins, it’s no surprise they are looking for new talent to help design a “third-person open-world action” title. Of course, as mentioned before, it is 100% speculation that this job listing reveals anything. Yet, if you head over to their open slots featured on their website’s career page, you will see the studio is looking for gameplay and level designers, VFX artists, and more. If that’s not hinting at something big in the works, then I don’t know what is. Below is the WB Games Montreal Twitter job listing in question.
