In a Fox News interview, White House Border Czar Tom Homan addressed claims by Florida U.S. Senate candidate Angie Nixon that ICE targets people of color. Homan described himself as an “equal opportunity deporter,” noting deportations to 180 countries last year and emphasizing that enforcement relies on reasonable suspicion and probable cause rather than skin color. A clip of the exchange shared on X has drawn widespread online attention and reactions.
The video shows White House Border Czar Tom Homan speaking on Fox News’ “Saturday in America” with host Kayleigh McEnany. In the clip, Homan responds to claims by Florida U.S. Senate candidate Angie Nixon regarding ICE, stating, “That’s a ridiculous statement. Look, we don’t racially profile. Everybody we talk to, we have reasonable suspicion of aliens to talk to them. And to arrest them, we need probable cause. That’s what the law says, and that’s what we do. We don’t arrest people based on the color of their skin.”
He continues, “I’m actually an equal-opportunity deportee. I deported people to 180 countries last year. So, I don’t care if you’re from Asia, you’re from Europe, or you’re from other countries. If you’re in the country illegally, you’ll be deported, regardless of the color of your skin.”
According to the post and related reports, the remarks came after McEnany played a clip of Nixon discussing ICE and profiling. The footage focuses on Homan’s response and does not include the full original comments from Nixon or events before or after the interview segment.
How Viewers Are Responding to the Exchange
Some users expressed support for Homan’s position, with one writing, “It’s simple! Follow the law, go through proper immigration steps, and it will be good! Break the law, regardless of demographics, and face the consequences! Keep up the great work, ICE & all law enforcement agencies!”
Another commented, “Equal opportunity enforced. Illegal is illegal — skin color doesn’t grant a free pass.”
A third noted, “ICE is targeting people who are not Americans and entered illegally. They may or may not be people of color (which is actually a silly term).”
Others focused on enforcement more broadly, such as “Who cares what liberals say… deport” and “Deport all illegals! None of them are allowed to stay!”
A different viewpoint questioned the approach, with one user stating, “This is not mass deportations. This is targeted enforcement. How many years to deport 30 million using this tactic? Homan does not have the guts to fulfill the mandate.”
Homan’s response adds one more exchange to the ongoing debate over immigration enforcement and the Florida Senate race.
