Ring Garlands don’t look like a unique item in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but they do have some use. It’s not difficult to obtain one, though you must pay a few Rupees. Other items have obvious uses, like Climbing Gear, but Ring Garlands can provide some dialogue that you wouldn’t get otherwise. You must explore before that dialogue is unlocked, though you can get there without progressing much of the main story. If you do manage to get the circumstances to align, you will get a nice scene that gives you some hope for the characters involved.
Getting Ring Garlands in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Ring Garlands can be purchased in Kakariko Village, just outside the Chief’s House. The seller is Koko, who runs a small shop selling Ring Garlands for five Rupees. It’s easily affordable even if you haven’t been selling items, but there are stores nearby if you need some quick Rupees. There’s no limit on the number of Ring Garlands you can have, but you will likely only need one Ring Garland. You can only buy one per day, but you can pass the time at a campfire to purchase another.
Fuse the Ring Garland with your current shield, making sure you remember which shield it is fused to. Head to the Gerudo Shelter, which will be north of the Gerudo Desert. Equip the shield fused with the Ring Garland and wait until evening. Start a campfire and wait until evening/night to get the right circumstances set up. Inside the Gerudo Shelter, head to the room where Ashai is teaching a relationship class. This class should have a Gerudo named Deltan in attendance. Speak to her while you have the fused Ring Garland shield, and you will get unique dialogue that only appears under those circumstances.
That’s the only known use of Ring Garlands other than being a nice accessory. Ring Garlands won’t go into your inventory, meaning fusing is the only way they can actually be useful. Unlike other items you can buy from stores, the Ring Garland doesn’t have much practical usage. If you are trying to complete The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in its entirety, it’s an item you must get if you want to see every piece of dialogue.
