Reality TV star Christine Quinn was one of the original cast members of Selling Sunset when it first premiered on Netflix in 2019. The show follows the agents of The Oppenheim Group in Los Angeles, showcasing their personal and professional lives. They specialize in selling exclusive luxury properties within the city. She quickly became a fan favorite due to her fashion and feuds on the show. However, Christine surprisingly quit the show just before the new season, disappointing many fans. However, it’s time to update fans about her.
Christine Quinn’s Selling Sunset Stint
Since the show debuted in 2019, Christine Quinn has been a staple on the cast line-up. Most of the show’s fans saw her more like the livewire of the series over the past five seasons. She was at the center of most of the series’ exciting storylines. Christine’s involvement at the Oppenheim Group exceeded her vibrant personality and impeccable fashion sense. She engaged in heated conflicts with almost all the other agents.
By the end of season 5, Christine appears to have made more enemies than friends within the Oppenheim Group. Her future with the company grew uncertain when Emma Hernan accused her of trying to bribe a client with $5,000. And during the reunion, Christine’s exit from Selling Sunset became inevitable when Jason Oppenheim claimed there was “not a place for her at The Oppenheim Group.”
In August 2022, all the rumors concerning her future on the show were laid to rest when a source confirmed to PEOPLE that Christine was leaving Selling Sunset. This came after she terminated her contract with Oppenheim Group to pursue a business venture with her husband.
Christine and Her Husband Started a Luxury Real Estate Company
After seeing out season 5 of Selling Sunset, Christine left Oppenheim Group to co-found a crypto real estate venture, RealOpen. The Selling Sunset alum and her husband, Christian Dumontet, founded the company in April. Interestingly, the couple tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony that featured a swan-filled soiree during season 3 of Selling Sunset.
Dumontet had previously founded Foodler and sold it to GrubHub for over $50 million in 2017. However, he serves as the CEO of RealOpen, while his wife, Christine, serves as the company’s CMO. The couple’s brokerage company primarily facilitates property purchases by high-net-worth clients who prefer cryptocurrency. In a 2022 interview with TechCrunch, Christine discussed RealScore, their company’s crypto credit scoring software.
They highlighted why clients choose crypto over cash for luxury real estate transactions. The interview explored the benefits of using cryptocurrency in property purchases. Due to cryptocurrency’s volatility, Christine revealed that crypto “whales” prefer swift business transactions, including fast property purchases. RealScore enables rapid property deal closures, bypassing the typical few-day duration and expediting the process significantly.
Christine Entered The Fashion Industry
One of the things that made Christine stand out from the other Selling Sunset cast members was her jaw-dropping outfits. The Selling Sunset alum had a keen eye for high-end fashion. So it didn’t come as a surprise to most of the viewers of the popular Netflix series when Christine decided to venture into fashion, and she did it in a big way.
In July 2022, Christine dazzled alongside Kim Kardashian and Nicole Kidman while walking the runway for Balenciaga during Couture Week. Later, during an interview with WWD, Christine mapped out her plans for a career in fashion. She said,
“I would love to be a creative director. In addition to that, I also love walking and runway modeling. Right now, I would love to collaborate with big brands and help be a creative director, and then from there, I can gain experience and maybe launch my own fashion line.”
Apart from fashion, Selling Sunset alum Christine also has her eyes set on Hollywood. The Selling Sunset alum wants to follow in the footsteps of award-winning singer Lady Gaga. The latter quickly transitioned into the movie industry with films like “A Star Is Born” and “American Horror Story.”
Christine Quinn Explained She Was Forced To Wear Revealing Clothes on Selling Sunset
Since exiting the show, Christine hasn’t spoken about her time on the show, but rather, she has taken pains to give more insight into her plans and current projects. Before the Selling Sunset season 6 premiere, Christine made a detour by appearing on “The Skinny Confidential Him & Her” podcast on May 15. While speaking on the podcast, the reality star alleged that the Selling Sunset producers dictated the dress code for the ladies and always encouraged them to wear more revealing clothes.
Christine claimed that while many of the other girls bowed to the pressure from the producers, she always stood her ground and established boundaries about what she felt comfortable wearing. Christine claimed that her insistence on avoiding wearing bikinis on the show led to several run-ins with the procedures. She said,
“A very conscious choice for me in the show is I never wore two-piece bikinis. And there were so many fights about that. So many fights from producers and production, constantly commenting on our bodies and telling us what to wear.”
Although Netflix has not responded to Christine’s claims yet, there might be some form of rebuttal in the coming weeks. For now, the world seems to be at Christine’s feet since she left all of the drama of Selling Sunset behind. Nothing seems beyond her reach, and it is only a matter of time before fans get to see her on reality TV again.
