Want to know what is Inertia in Escape From Tarkov? Escape From Tarkov is a unique title that combines FPS, MMO, and RPG genres. Players will have to survive in the closed and dangerous city of Tarkov. Battlestate Games tried to make the gameplay and object physics in the game as realistic as possible. Indeed, once you play the game, you will immediately notice the difference from the usual shooter games like Call of Duty, thanks to Inertia. So, read on to find out what this Inertia is in Escape From Tarkov.

What Is Inertia in Escape From Tarkov?

Playing Escape From Tarkov is fun, as it has many modes, story quests, weapons, and character customization. However, we all love shooters with realistic character animations, weapon recoil, wear, and tear, etc. And fortunately, all this is in the game. Moreover, after patch 12.12, a new feature appeared in Escape From Tarkov called Inertia.

You will never be able to jump like a kangaroo or sprint a zigzag with all equipment in the real world, as you do in most shooters. Your body and ammunition have a certain weight that affects your Inertia while moving. The more your weight, the more you will need to make efforts to accelerate to full speed or stop. And in Escape From Tarkov, Inertia works the same way.

You can carry various equipment with you and upgrade your character’s stats, as Escape From Tarkov is an RPG. And after patch 12.12, the weight of your equipment and your Strength stat began to affect how your character moves. The higher the Strength, the faster you start moving when sprinting, walking, sharp turns, etc. And with more equipment weight, you will do it all more slowly.

The Inertia feature made Escape From Tarkov even closer to the real world. Now you need to calculate the weight of your equipment to move quickly. And we all know how half-second of delay can cost a life in multiplayer shooters.

That’s all you need to know about Inertia in Escape From Tarkov. This feature is not as complicated as it might seem at first glance. But knowing how it works, you will be able to play better and survive in Tarkov. And while you are here, take a look at our guide on how to complete the Pharmacist Quest in Escape from Tarkov.

Escape from Tarkov is available on PC.
