Do you want to know the meaning of ADS in Call of Duty? For any new player, some of the terms experienced players use might be confusing, and ADS is one such term. The knowledge of this term is also essential for the best weapon loadouts. It is a critical part of any player’s arsenal when playing the game. Unlike Hipfire, when using ADS, players can zoom in on their target and increase their accuracy. So, let’s look at the meaning of ADS in Call of Duty.

ADS is short for Aim Down Sights. This term describes aiming down the sights on your gun to improve accuracy and precision while shooting enemies. When you ADS, your weapon will zoom in on the target so that you can line up a more precise shot. So, when you are engaging in a fierce gunfight, this is an essential skill you need to master.

Using ADS in Call of Duty

Using ADS in Call of Duty will increase accuracy while decreasing mobility. Therefore this is not the best option if you engage in close-quarter combats. However, for long-distance battles, this skill might be a lifesaver for you. It will give you the extra accuracy needed to land shots and take out enemies from afar.

On the other hand, you can use Hipfire, a fast aiming technique where the player does not aim down their sights but instead fires from the hip. This method can be helpful in close-quarters engagements when you must act quickly.

Generally, any weapon settings are set with ADS as default, and the player has to change the settings of gun types to switch between Hipfire and ADS. The best weapons to use with Aim Down Sight are Assault Rifles, SMGs, LMGs, Marksman Rifles, Sniper Rifles, Shotguns, and Handguns. However, depending on the user’s preference, ADS can be used with any weapon type. But remember that Aim Down Sight precision would differ depending on the weapon.
