Summer is here and for Destiny fans that means the arrival of the Solstice of Heroes event. Solstice is an annual event where Guardians gather in the game to celebrate what they have achieved throughout the year, like the Explosion Personality weapon or Wicked Implement Catalyst. Since it is an event, there will be buffs and rewards as well. So here is everything about the Solstice event including the new Solstice Armor, rewards, and its start time in Destiny 2.
Solstice Event Start Time in Destiny 2
In case you have been playing Destiny 2 for less than a year, you probably have missed the previous event and don’t know what it is all about. In Solstice, all players gather to celebrate yet another year of playing Destiny 2 and their achievements. The biggest reward of this event is the Solstice Armor, which will have a great design and also a unique glow according to your subclass.
The start time of the Solstice Event in Destiny 2 is July 18, 2023, it will last four weeks and ends on August 15, 2023. At this time all players that tend the Bonfire Bash mode will receive two buffs which are Firebound and Flare. With the Firebound buff your Recovery and Super regeneration will be increased and with Flare, you will create a fire around you which rapidly deals damage to anyone getting near you.
Solstice Armor and Other Rewards
The biggest reward of this year’s Solstice in Destiny 2 is the Sosltice Armor which players get every year and a new Strand Rocket Launcher. Getting the armor is not a challenge and simply attending the event will reward you with it. But to reach the glowing state of it, you have to grind and upgrade it multiple times. Or you can just buy it from the Eververse Store if you have enough Bright Dust or Silver. As for the Strand Rocket Launcher, we have to wait and see what challenges are required in obtaining it.

To upgrade your Solstice Armor on the other hand you have to earn Silver Leaves, Silver Ash, and Kindling which players that attended last year’s event are similar to. To earn each of them you have to complete a series of challenges or activities which you can find below:
Silver Leaves
- Complete activities in the game to gain Silver Leaves
Silver Ash
- Complete Bonfire Bash Activity to transform your Silver Leaves into Silver Ash
- You can spend Silver Ash to reroll your armor stats
Kindling
- Complete Solstice Event Challenges to earn Kindling
- You can use Kindling to upgrade your armor and each piece can be upgraded three-time
