John Wick: Chapter 4, the latest installment of Keanu Reeve’s action-packed drama, becomes available for streaming weeks after its official release in theatres. John Wick 4 officially hit theatres on March 24, 2023, four years after its initial announcement. Viewers familiar with the first three installments have waited in anticipation since the revelation of a fourth came to light. However, the initial release date, slated for May 21, 2021, was delayed following the COVID-19 pandemic and Keanu’s other commitments.
The new date, May 27, 2022, also failed to fall through, partly due to its date clashing with the release of Top Gun: Maverick. Again, this forced the production to opt for its March 2023 release. The grueling wait eventually paid off at the Box Office, tipping the numbers at over $1 billion globally within two months of its release. Thus it became the highest-grossing film of the franchise.

How To Stream John Wick: Chapter 4 Post Release
The streaming of John Wick: Chapter 4 can be done on any available OTT platforms upon its release. While the streaming release dates of the respective platforms can be unpredictable, streaming giants like Starz, owned by Lionsgate, would have it available in due time. Peacock would also have the film available for streaming following the deal between Lionsgate and Universal.
There’s also the possibility of John Wick: Chapter 4 being available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video after the rental period. However, it would make more sense if the speculations about Netflix’s interest in acquiring the rights to the film turned out to be mere rumors.
Who Is in the Cast of John Wick 4?
The latest installment of the John Wick series brings back a lineup of characters with which viewers are familiar. But it also introduces new faces, including Bill Skarsgård, Donnie Yen, and songstress Rina Sawayama. The John Wick 4 cast comprises main players like Laurence Fishburne, who reprises his role as the Bowery King. Lance Reddick and Ian McShane also reprised their roles in the franchise as Charon and Winston Scott, respectively.
Donnie Yen debuted his John Wick franchise in chapter 4 as Caine, a visually impaired High Table operative. The Hong Kong actor’s previous acting credits include IP Man, Mulan, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Another new player, Bill Skarsgård, held an important role in the latest installment, playing the Marquis De Gramont. The character is a powerful member of the High Table and one of John’s biggest nightmares.
The movie also introduces the character Shimazu, played by Hiroyuki Sanada (47 Ronin, Mortal Combat, The Last Samurai). Shamier Anderson played the Tracker, Clancy Brown starred as the Harbinger, Natalia Tena played Katia, Scott Adkins as Killa, and Rina Sawayama made her movie debut as the killer hotel concierge Akira. Of course, Keanu Reeves reprised his role as the titular character John Wick.
John Wick 4 Filming Locations
The making of John Wick 4 commanded a budget of $100 million, and most of that budget no doubt went into scouting for the ideal filming locations. The film sees the titular character embark on a chaotic world tour across different civilizations with hitmen on his tail. Not to forget the desert escapades. All of these happen to be real-life locations.
Some of the most menacing John Wick 4 filming locations include the Wadi Rum Desert, Jordan. In the movie, John sailed through this desert to Morocco to take revenge on Elder. Parts of the film were also filmed in New York, including the famed Continental Hotel exteriors. The filming also took the crew to Osaka and Tokyo, Japan, and Paris, France, the home of the Eiffel Tower. Additionally, some important indoor sequences saw the production team hit Berlin, Germany, as originality was a key factor.
Is John Wick Chapter 4 the Last One?
John Wick 4 follows the titular character, John Wick (Keanu Reeves), as he hatches his revenge plot against the High Table. In his quest, he takes asylum at Osaka Continental, a hotel run by his friend Shimazu Koji. With help from Shimmazu, the hotel’s concierge (Shimazu’s daughter) Akira, Reeve takes on his biggest enemy yet and the league of assassins on his tail.
Fans of the series are familiar with John’s ravenous rampage, especially when defending the things he holds most dear. In season 1, he was forced out of retirement to seek out the men who invaded his home and killed his dog, Daisy. His retirement plan also failed to pull through in John Wick: Chapter 2 as his sworn “marker” to crime boss Santino pulled him deeper into the dark realm. The tale of his betrayal set the premise for the next chapter, John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum, where he tried to escape several hitmen looking to claim a bounty for his murder after being declared “excommunicado.”
After an adventurous sojourn through John’s would-have-been post-retirement journey, the franchise offers a climatic wrap. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, ahead of the release, director Chad Stahelski announced that John Wick: Chapter 4 would be the last one, saying,
“In our minds, Keanu and I are done for the moment. We’re going to give John Wick a rest.”
He went on to note that the studio certainly had a plan, and if everyone loved the new release, they’d “take a quiet minute.” Nonetheless, whether or not the producers plan to introduce another installment, the latest release appears to be the end of the road for John Wick, especially if he actually died for real in the ending of chapter 4.
