Promethium is an Epic Crafting Material in Gotham Knights used for fabricating outfits and various weaponry for Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood. As players face tougher enemies and take on more challenging quests in Arkham City, crafting better equipment is crucial to ensure the team of playable characters is well-equipped for the task. While skill does play a significant factor in defeating baddies and villains throughout Arkham, using un-upgraded gear will cause enemy mobs to become “HP sponges,” causing combat sequences to go on for much longer than desired. Accordingly, knowing where to find Promethium is essential for character progression in Gotham Knights.
Finding Promethium in Gotham Knights
According to its in-game description, Promethium is a “super-strong metallic alloy that can push the limits of human engineering.” If players examine the “Faction” information for this metallic alloy, they will notice the name Regulators. Therefore, Regulators are the enemy mob types who drop Promethium in Gotham Knights.

Regulators are a common enemy faction that players will encounter while protecting the city of Arkham in Gotham Knights. For example, during the 6.1 Quest involving Jacob Kane, “Court Judgement,” fans are tasked with interrogating Regulators to find out more information about the case. Players will also receive Crime Scene Investigations that involve the Regulators. During both of these types of missions, players must confront members of the Regulator faction and deliver a proper beating. Once defeated, these enemies have a chance to grant players the Promethium they need for crafting in Gotham Knights.
Hunting down Regulators is not an activity that is exclusive to missions or investigations. If players are in need of Promethium in Gotham Knights, they can freely explore Arkham City for Regulators and defeat them for the resource. A few excellent locations for finding members of the Regulator faction are Tricorner Island, Bowery, Gotham Heights, Financial District, Old Gotham, Southside, Otisburg, and West End. Most of the time, players will be traversing across the rooftops of the city, so it can be hard to tell whether a group of thugs are Regulators. However, if fans manage to get close enough to listen to any in-game dialogue between the mobs, the name “Regulator” will appear if subtitles are enabled.
