Sons Of The Forest drops you into an intense battle of survival as you navigate a dangerous landscape. As the enemies become progressively stranger and deadlier, you need to defend yourself properly. Creating a defensive barrier around your camp is always great, but you need weapons too. One of those is a pistol. We’ll show you where you can find the pistol to improve your chances of survival in Sons Of The Forest.
Where to Find the Pistol in Sons Of The Forest
Although Sons Of The Forest has you in survival mode from the beginning, you can also discover a weapon early on. The pistol will appear on your GPS. You will see a purple exclamation point far left on the GPS. You might notice other purple markings, but the one we want is the one on the water, not on land. When you see it, you can tell it is quite a distance away from the initial helicopter crash.
If you want to find the pistol in Sons Of The Forest, you must head in that direction before the exact location will show up on the map.
Note: before you head that way, be sure you have healing items. More likely than not, you’re going to need them.
You will notice it will take you far out in the water when you get closer to the mark. It is inside an orange inflatable boat. However, to get the pistol in Sons Of The Forest, you’ll have to get by the guards: sharks.

Now that we know what awaits us in the water, you want to ensure your stamina is all the way up to swim fast. The sharks may not attack right away or just take a small bit of your health. Regardless, don’t stop until you reach the ladder on the boat so you can climb up. Remember to hold E to climb into the boat.
Before you do anything, consider building a shelter right on the beach. This can be a simple one, as you want to be able to save just in case those sharks rip you to shreds.
Once inside the boat, look down to find the pistol in Sons Of The Forest. Simply interact with it by pressing E, and it’s yours. If you’re hurt, heal before you jump back into the water to swim to shore. There’s always a chance those sharks will attack again.
Of course, you can’t use the pistol without ammo. So, remember to loot all the containers you come across, as ammo will randomly spawn inside them.
