Want to know where to get Volt Switch TM in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet? Pokemon starting moves rarely meet your requirements. And even by leveling up or evolving them, you may not get the moveset you want. Luckily there are over 170 TMs in the game to fix this, and Volt Switch TM is one of these. With Power 70, Accuracy 100, and a nice additional effect, this targeted attack is incredibly effective against Water and Flying-type Pokemon. Luckily, to get Volt Switch TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you only must move through the game’s story, and we’ll help you get there.

Where to Get Volt Switch TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

First of all, it is worth noting that you will not be able to find Volt Switch TM in the open spaces of the Paldea region. While you can find many TMs in the wild, the Volt Switch TM is not one of these, so you won’t be able to go and get it. The only way to get Volt Switch TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is to craft it at the TM Machine in the nearest Pokémon Center. But don’t be in a hurry, because you must find a recipe first.

As we said at the beginning, you will get the recipe for this TM as you progress through the story. Once you reach levels 23-24, head to the town of Levincia in the northwestern part of East Province (Area Three). Here you will visit the Electric Gym and fight against Iono – the leader of this gym. And if you win, you will be rewarded with one Volt Switch TM and the ability to craft copies of it.

Since Iono’s average level is 23-24, it won’t take long for you to win. But to make it easier for you to prepare for the battle, we have prepared a list of the Pokemon of this Gym Leader.

Level Pokemon Type
23 Wattrel Electric and Flying
23 Bellibolt Electric
23 Luxio Electric
24 Mismagius Electric and Ghost

Since all Iono Pokémon are Electric-type Pokémon, you only have to prepare a couple of Ground-type fighters to win. Electric-type Pokémon are weak against Ground-type attacks and take 2x damage from these.

How to Craft Volt SwitchTM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Once you defeat Iono and get your first Volt Switch TM, you can create any number of copies. To do this, head to the nearest Pokemon Center, select the Volt Switch TM on the TM Machine, and place the following materials there:

  • 3000LP
  • Shinx Fang x3
  • Dedenne Fur x3

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available on Nintendo Switch.
