You may have seen him, whether you are a gamer, a movie buff, or staying home to watch TV. The Cal Kestis actor is an experienced actor with some smaller roles along with some major parts in hit shows. Maybe, you will be able to spot him next time you sit down to watch a show or go to the theater.
The Actor Behind Cal Kestis in Jedi: Survivor
Cameron Monaghan is the actor of Cal Kestis. Born in Santa Monica on August 16, 1993, he grew up going toward an unconventional career, away from an office job to a life of entertainment. He started out as a child model at the age of three. By the time he was seven, he had begun his acting career.
One of his earliest substantial roles for him was Chad in Malcolm in the Middle. He was one of Dewey’s (Erik Per Sullivan) classmates, who wore oven mitts and had a piece of paper taped onto him with various warnings. He went off to having smaller, one-off roles in Avatar: The Last Airbender, Criminal Minds, Monk, and more.
Eventually, the Cal Kestis actor landed longer-running jobs. His biggest role was as Ian Gallagher in Shameless. He appeared in 127 episodes out of a total of 134. Fans could never quite predict Ian’s actions due to his Bipolar Disorder, which he refused to get treated. While he could bring the laughs for the Showtime comedy-drama, he went on quite the emotional arc.
The other notable TV role for the actor was in Gotham as Jerome Valeska, also known as The Joker. This new twist on the iconic villain delivered an origin story to match the origins fans saw of the Dark Knight in the series.
The Cal Kestis actor has been on the big screen in between his time on TV. His first major movie was Adam Sandler’s Click as the next-door neighbor, Kevin O’Doyle. Other notable films have been The Giver, Vampire Academy, Amityville: The Awakening, and Paradise Highway.
Monaghan made his video game debut in Fallen Order. Now we get more time with him as he goes on a darker journey in the sequel. Now that it is out, fans can see what is next for the beloved Jedi.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is out now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
