The state of political affairs in the United States has prompted many citizens to go out of their way to explore how they can help make their communities better and safer places. In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, one man decided to open up a food pantry on his front lawn for his neighbors and community members to visit. However, when he opened up his mailbox to get his mail, he found a surprise that he surely was never expecting: what looked to be various hundred-dollar bills shoved into an envelope.

The above video was posted to the TikTok account @ajpgh412, which belongs to a Pittsburgh father who typically posts about his thoughts on trending topics. Most recently, he opened up a food pantry on his front lawn with “his boys” that allows anyone to come by and grab the food they need to survive. As a result of the pantry being open, his front lawn was rather busy overnight, meaning he needed to go out and fix a few things to ensure it could be back up and running for the next set of people.

When he finished, he reached into his mailbox to retrieve his mail and was allegedly met with an inconspicuous white envelope that was almost popping open from how full it was. After investigating the envelope, he found that it contained what looked to be thousands of dollars in hundred-dollar bills. At this revelation, you can see @ajpgh412 crying with gratitude, not believing that someone would actually do something so kind in exchange for a service that was free to begin with.

Many commentators were incredibly grateful for his actions, with many people praising him and comparing what he’s done to others. Some of the top comments include, “They build higher fences and you build longer tables. Thank you,” and “THIS is America.” Many other comments included suggestions for other items he can stock his food pantry with, including diapers and feminine products.

Since this video was posted, @ajpgh412 has posted an update about how he will be using the donated money to go to Costco and stock up on many of the products that people suggested in the comments. You can see just how proud he is of having done something so wonderful for the community, and that kindness has turned into wanting to continue to push for the people who rely on the food he provides.
