The Real Housewives’ Lisa Rinna wanted to change her last name to Hamlin when she got married. It’s an old-school trope to take the last name of your husband, but some just grew up with that idea and wish to uphold it. Some did find it strange that she didn’t do that upon marrying Harry Hamlin. But if you dig a little, you will find out a couple of things. One, she did intend to change her last name. Two, her husband was the one who told her not to. Why you may ask?
The answer should be obvious, but please read on.
The Real Housewives’ Lisa Rinna Name Game
“Something else we’ve seen Housewives struggle with is the decision to either change or keep their name the same after walking down the aisle. We’re seeing that play out now with Caroline Stanbury and her husband on The Real Housewives of Dubai. But People is reporting now why Lisa has chosen to keep her last name the same after being married for more than 2 decades. ‘It’s interesting, because I wanted to change my name to Lisa Hamlin, and Harry said, ‘Why would you do that? Your name is Lisa Rinna professionally, so don’t mess with that,” Lisa stated. She goes on to say, ‘And so, if Harry tells you to do something, you do it, so that’s why I did that.’”
So The Real Housewives’ Lisa Rinna did intend to change her name, but her husband makes a great point. When your name is part of your brand, and your brand is worth billions, you don’t mess with that. And her hubby Harry Hamlin is obviously very supportive of her. She’s so mega famous we are sure the name change would’ve had no impact but better to be rich than sorry.
Safe. We meant safe. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
