In her farewell speech, the 34-year-old shared her experience on the show, right from her first time stepping into Los Angeles as a young girl from Salt Lake City, in pursuit of stardom. Lala, who coined her screen monicker from her real name Lauren as a nod to her childhood nickname recalled landing a job as a hostess at SUR, a place that soon became home for her. While the job remains one of the most intimidating for her to date, it paved the way for her to join the cast of the Vanderpump Rules reality show. She recounted,
“A short time later, the opportunity to be on a show called d Vanderpump Rules landed in front of me. I have such mixed feelings right now. It’s no secret I do not like change. This is the exception.”

Katie’s brother Joey Maloney, who made a few appearances on the show shared a post on Instastory commending his sister’s run on the show, humorously adding,
“After 11 seasons, I will not return as a #backgoundbrother on #pumprules. I learned things, ate sandwiches, and added great style to every scene I was a blur in. It was a good run.”
Since the announcement of the season 12 cast shake-up, Vanderpump Rules fans have flooded social media platforms with mixed reactions. Many expressed shock and disbelief, admitting the OGs would be missed. Some fans have threatened to boycott season 12 if Bravo indeed follows through with the new cast lineup and axe the original cast for real while others believe a cast shakeup was long overdue.
The Bravo reality TV series premiered in January 2013, with the original cast of Scheana Shay, Stassi Schroeder, Tom Sandoval, Jax Taylor, Kristen Doute, and Katie Maloney.
