Winter Love Island 2023 is steadily moving towards an epic finale, but it has been one hell of a ride for the fans and Islanders. Right from the first episode, the Show has been packed with drama — as the male and female Islanders struggled to form lasting connections with each other. Despite several coupling and recouplings, only a few pairs have survived the events of the last seven weeks. To make it this far, the Islanders have had to come through — messy love triangles, feuds, gossiping, and the dreaded Casa Amor challenge.
One of the major talking points in the first half of the season was Ron Hall and Lana Jenkins’ toxic relationship. However, in recent weeks most of the talks have centered around the fallout from Casa Amor and the movie night episodes. Also, this season of Winter Love Island has featured what fans tagged a “toxic femininity” row, with many viewers blasting the female contestants for their blind loyalty to each other and constant gaslighting of their male counterparts.
Still, the whole drama will end on Monday, March 13, according to the announcement by the beautiful Maya Jama, who has served as host for the Winter Love Island 2023. While breaking the news on social media, Maya said:
“Guys, I have some very, very exciting news. The Love Island final is going to be on Monday, March 13, on ITV2 and ITVX. It’s going to be major, you don’t want to miss it. I will see you then.”
Since the news about the finale, social media has erupted into a melee as Winter Love Island fans predict which couple will emerge as the winner. Most viewers feel this year’s winner is undoubtedly the hardest to predict in a while.
Early Favorites Keep Sabotaging Their Chances
As the countdown to the Winter Love Island 2023 season finale begins, most fans have been trying to predict the couple that will win the Show but it has proved to be an uphill task. Unlike previous seasons, many of the Show’s fans feel there is no clear winner at this point, and the race is still very open to any of the top four couples remaining on the Show.
While commenting on a thread on Reddit, some of the Show’s viewers tried to make sense of why things seem quite different this season. Most users agreed that things keep changing every week because the frontrunners keep sabotaging their chances by themselves. One Redditor u/mitch77777 wrote:
“It might just come down to who has the best final date. Think this is the first season where anyone of the top 4 could win it.”
Fans Feel Any Winner Is a Downgrade From Previous Seasons
According to fans’ comments, the top four couples in the villa are Tom and Samie, Ron and Lana, Kai, Sanam, and Will and Jessie. For many of the fans, none of these couples have been exceptional, and they believe any of them winning will be a downgrade from previous seasons. In truth, this Winter Love Island season has been plagued by too much drama, which has hardly let any of the couples thrive.
Past fan favorite couple Will and Jessie hit a rough patch since Casa Amor. Ron and Lana have a checkered history on the Show. Tom and Samie drew the ire of fans recently with their antics. While Kai and Sanam seem genuine but there is not a lot in their relationship to wow the audience. One user u/ _WirthsLaw_ summed it up by saying:
“Is it possible that no one wins? That would be ideal.”
Another user u/Hoggos towed another line by insinuating the producers had crowned a winner already. The user said:
“Past few episodes, the producers have given Ron and Lana a massive sympathy edit. They’re the chosen winners this season and will very likely win. Tbh, any couple who wins this season is a massive downgrade from last season.”
Although fans have proffered many wild theories about the likely winners of Winter Love Island 2023, much can still change before the finale. Still, all debates will end when a winner emerges on Monday 13th of March 2023.
