Democratic Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate David Crowley was recently criticized online after calling out his Republican competitor, Tom Tiffany, for skipping a debate. Wisconsin residents defended Tiffany while slamming the Democrat for what they deemed inefficient Medicaid policies.
In a recent video shared on social media, Crowley claims that Tiffany does not want to debate him because he can’t explain why he voted for the “Big Ugly Bill,” referencing what Trump calls the “Big Beautiful Bill.”
Crowley complains that the measure cut over a trillion dollars from Medicaid, forcing seniors to find ways to afford coverage. He also claims that while working as a county executive in Milwaukee, his team worked to make healthcare affordable for all. If elected, he promised to expand healthcare in Wisconsin.

The video garnered many reactions on X, and even Tom Tiffany himself responded. He hit back, saying: “We kicked illegal aliens off Medicaid, and we all know you support taxpayers paying for their benefits. We also enacted common-sense work requirements, which 80% of Wisconsin voters supported. Meanwhile, you can’t even complete your own county’s health care contract on time.”
Many X users also agreed with Tiffany against Crowley: “Obamacare has been such a disaster that there is no fix. I might remind you that those of us who had our healthcare cut had to figure out how to obtain healthcare or be fined thousands of dollars per year on our income taxes.”
Another user wrote: “So just admit you favor taxpayers supporting able-bodied lazy adults and illegal aliens and their kids. And while you’re at it, admit you plan to raise everyone’s taxes to pay for it.”
A few users called him “disingenuous, like every establishment Democrat.” This view was shared by others: “Stop lying. Tiffany has agreed to one debate with WISN TV in Milwaukee. Tiffany rejected an offer to debate from the leftist Wisconsin Broadcasters Association. Why do lefties lie?”
It remains to be seen who will become the next governor of Wisconsin, as polls show both candidates close to each other, and topics such as healthcare will be important in deciding the winner.
