Women often experience terrifying moments every day, especially when they’re being followed by unknown men. This is what happened to a Wisconsin woman who shared a recent situation that happened to her. While she was at her local Walmart, she noticed that she was being followed by three male “immigrants“. She described them as ones who “certainly fit a certain kind of stereotype.” According to her, she quickly realized that they were following her when they went everywhere she went inside the store. They were with her at the vegetable section, the meat section, the cleaning section, and even the women’s section. This was enough to make any woman worry.
When the Wisconsin woman reached the front, she saw that the three men were still following her. This was when she asked the person at the front to please check her receipt. That was quite smart because that made her able to tell the employee that she was being followed. The employee informed the staff as the woman waited there with him. You could tell that the men were up to no good because the moment security showed up, they exited the store. She made sure to wait 10 minutes before she decided to finally leave. Some employees went with her and that was a good thing because it turned out that the danger wasn’t over yet. She noticed a black Honda Civic in the parking lot that had the engine running. Guess what? The same three men were sitting inside and they were watching her.
At this point, the woman realized that she had to do something more. She called law enforcement which was definitely the right thing to do. Once they arrived, the men drove away as fast as they could. Thankfully, the woman was safe at this point but she wanted to warn other women about her situation. She believes this issue will worsen in states that allow immigration. She has every right to be afraid, but the so-called immigrants who followed her do not represent the entire group. Hopefully, this serves as a reminder for all women to stay aware of their surroundings when alone.
People Reacting to the Wisconsin Woman Being Followed
A lot of people were scared of what happened to the Wisconsin woman, which made many leave racist comments since the men were immigrants. “We don’t hate enough. Hate will keep you safe,” one person wrote. Others believed that it is okay to be racist as long as you are safe, since another person said, “it’s not, rather be racist and alive then not racist enough and dead.” Someone else added, “better to be safe while being called racist than be robbed, beaten, and [abused] while being called racist.” Several comments also wanted the woman to call ICE next time.
Thankfully, some comments under the Wisconsin woman’s video weren’t racist. One person tried to defend immigrants by saying, “not just immigrants, come on.” Let’s just say that not everyone agreed with this. There were also wholesome comments from men who advised women on what to do in such situations. “And also ladies, if you don’t pack said heat and you feel like, or you know you are being followed. Find a big dude, we don’t mind walking you to safety,” one man wrote. Another man agreed and said, “as a big guy, I approve. I carry protection. Its for me. Its for you.” We all need to help each other.
