The conversation surrounding women’s rights, more specifically their right to an abortion, has been one of the most focused as of late. Many government officials are taking it upon themselves to govern what a woman is allowed to do with their body, given their situation. One woman at Kennesaw State University showed her support of abortion by pretending to pose with an anti-abortion sign. How exactly does this show her support? Well, she decided to run away with the sign!

[Updated on 2 Sept. — Amended the location to Kennesaw State University]

The topic of abortion has long been debated in the United States of America, with various laws being imposed on a state-specific level. It seems never-ending, and with our current presidential administration, the battle feels very long and uphill. Unfortunately, those against abortions usually quote biblical verses, which really have nothing to do with the dangers of childbirth and general complications. Instead of simply having a conversation with students who were protesting abortions on campus at Kansas State University, one woman decided to take it upon herself to really make a statement.

Instead of yelling at or taking photos of a man holding a sign in support of anti-abortion, this woman decided to pose for a photo with it. However, during the photo opportunity, the woman gripped onto the sign and ran away. It was completely unprompted and clearly took everyone by surprise, because no one decided to take chase until a few seconds after realizing what had happened.

The comments were filled with hilarious replies, boasting the woman’s actions and applauding her, with the top comment saying, “Thought my fyp betrayed me for a moment.” Honestly, this is the kind of protesting I can get behind. It’s completely non-aggressive and makes the best point you possibly can make: I don’t like this, and it doesn’t belong here. Hopefully, those same anti-abortion sign holders will think twice the next time someone approaches them with the intent of posing for a photo. Who knows how expensive those signs really are!
