We can all agree that Wuthering Waves made a huge splash (no pun intended) when it launched. It brought fantastic fast-paced combat mixed with timed-dodge mechanics and even a parry system. Add to that the encouragement to switch between characters for new combat effects and a solid roster of characters, and it all looked like a recipe for success; sadly, that wasn’t the case. There were many bugs, glitches, and other errors that, while have been compensated, left a sour taste. Thankfully, Wuthering Waves released its developer’s message today showcasing all the fun QoL features coming to Version 1.1.
Most of the changes coming to Version 1.1 pertain to Wuthering Wave’s Echo system, according to the developer’s message. During the first few weeks, Resonators felt farming for Echoes was extremely grindy and tedious. With that in mind, Kuro Games is bringing a plethora of changes. Below is everything announced in the latest statement:
- New Tuner Synthesis Feature: Resonators can now synthesize Medium and Advanced Tuners into higher-grade Tuners using the Synthesizer.
- Increased Union EXP Reward for Unlocking New Echo Entries: The overall Union experience will increase in 1.1, and Wuthering Waves will retrospectively reward players for the Echo entries they unlocked in version 1.0 via the game’s mail.
- Higher COST Range for Echoes Rewarded for Activity Points: Players can now obtain a COST 3 or COST 4 Echo after reaching 100 Activity Points.
- Data Bank Level Cap Raised: The Data Bank’s level will increase to 21. All Echoes that drop at level 21 are guaranteed to be of 5-Star Rarity.
- Mt. Firmament: Echo Transformation: You can transform into the Clang Bang Echo for certain exploration puzzles.
Besides that, Wuthering Waves Version 1.1 also reduces the cost of leveling up Echoes, removes the Tacet Field animation, and slows down the speed of the Cruisewing Challenge.
As for new content, we are getting Mt. Firmament as a new explorable area and a new event that’ll reward up to 1000 Astrites. Also, players can expect an increased stock in the Oscillated Coral Store once the new update arrives. For those eager to continue with the main story but afraid of not meeting the required level, 1.1 will also reduce the requirements for certain quests. Last but not least, we are also getting more ways to get Activity Points, which will be great for those who only focus on this content.
Overall, Version 1.1 looks like the Wuthering Waves experience we all wanted, and the latest developer’s message confirms it. Now, let’s hope everything goes smoothly because, with so many gacha games in the market, the stakes are higher than ever. I want to see WuWa stay in the race for many more years, and these are all steps in the right direction.
