Western fans of Xenoblade Chronicles have a lot to look forward to. The first one is that Xenoblade Chronicles X is just a few short months away from a western release. The next is that it appears as if Gamestop is still selling pre-orders of Xenoblade Chronicles X, the special edition. Finally, Nintendo has confirmed that the downloadable content (DLC) released to support Xenoblade Chronicles X beyond launch in Japan, will be made available in North America and Europe at no additional cost.
The new issue of Game Informer (October 2015 issue) has a feature on Xenoblade Chronicles X that discusses the upcoming game, and its DLC. In Japan, a number of supplemental add-ons were sold that brought additional characters, quests, and buffs into the game. Monolith Soft had developed more characters, quests and buffs for their Wii U exclusive, which Game Informer reports will see at least the four characters released free of charge.
Each character will be recruitable after completing three missions, and will provide either a weapon or Skell blueprint. Each character has two unique Special Arts and blueprints, and becomes playable after completing the three quests tied to them.
Xenoblade Chronicles X is slated to release on December 3rd, 2015 for the Wii U for North America. In Japan, it was released on April 29th 2015 to largely positive reviews. Stay tuned for details!
