If you’re looking for a cozy home away from The Sims, Welcome to Bloxburg offers many of the same comforts. While many Roblox games are free to play, Bloxburg used to require a small, one-time payment of 25 Robux to play. Those days are in the past, however. Welcome to Bloxburg has gone free-to-play as it makes the leap from early access. Whether you were an early Bloxburger or are checking the game out for the first time, this shift means big things for the game going forward. Here’s everything you need to know about what changed (and what it means for you).
Welcome to Bloxburg no longer charges 25 Robux as a one-time access fee to experience the game. Why? Bloxburg has left early access, and it’s opening itself up for a new wave of free-to-play gamers. Now the only thing keeping the game from being truly free are those pesky microtransactions. Don’t worry, though: if you already paid 25 Robux to play during the beta, the devs have some rewards for you. Here’s what you’ll get if you were an early supporter:
- ComfortMaster S500
- Early Access Trophy
- “Early Bloxburger” Title
The ComfortMaster S500 is a couch converted into a vehicle. It’s about as slow as you’d expect from furniture with wheels. Although you won’t be speeding through the suburbs on your couch, it’s still a cool way to show off your early commitment to the game. The three beta participation gifts aren’t life-changing. Still, considering the game only cost 25 Robux initially, it’s just nice to see the devs toss players a few treats. Building a second life in Welcome to Bloxburg can work up a sweat faster than Track and Field Infinite, but at least now you’re not paying for all that stress.
Roblox is available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Mobile.
