Back in October, Nintendo shared an image of Link climbing a giant pumpkin-shaped mountain in the spirit of Halloween. And although the company seems to have given Thanksgiving a miss, their Zelda appreciation is back again for the winter season with another piece of art to enjoy.
There’s quite a bit going on here, actually. Notice the Guardian’s eyes under that helmet. The angle makes it appear almost confused. Why are these fleshy beings celebrating? What is that mound of white stuff there in front of me shaped like a Bokoblin? By contrast, Link and the wolf appear as if they’re waiting to see what it does to the snowman. Maybe they built it just for that reason. Also notice that the powerful Guardian is in fact the most colorful object in the artwork, yet it still retains its air of menace, and that the vine wrapping around it closely resembles a garland. Whatever the situation, humor abounds in this image, and despite its initial scariness, the composition exudes a sense of festivity and coming-together of former enemies.
That’s not the only Zelda treat being presented this season. Piggyback Guides has announced that they will be publishing a – you guessed it – strategy guide for Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which will presumably release close to or alongside the game. But not just any old guidebook. No, no, this one presents buyers and collectors with a choice.
As you can see, there are three different versions of the Zelda guide to choose from – Regular, Collector, or Deluxe. You can probably guess which is which. No publication date, price, or content details have been announced, so we’ll have to wait a bit longer before we learn exactly what we’ll be getting from these strategy guides.
