Zendaya didn’t receive any complaints for her style as she went tennis-themed in a jaw-dropping dress for her Challengers movie earlier this year, but fans did have remarks on her weight.
Putting on a show-stopping display at the London, U.K. premiere of her tennis-themed movie in April, the 27-year-old dazzled in a slinky, thigh-slit dress with tiny tennis racquet embellishments all over it, and it looks like users think the gown was highlighting an unhealthily thin frame. While many believe that Zendaya is naturally slim, those seeing The Daily Mail‘s photos wondered if the former Disney star really should weigh a little more.
Zendaya Shows Leggy Tennis Look For ‘Challengers’
Flaunting her ultra-toned shoulders and tiny waist in a figure-hugging, custom white dress by designer Thom Browne, Zendaya oozed glam as she flashed her long legs on the red carpet.
Looking a million dollars in her tailored, sleeveless gown and shouting out the method dressing she’s been embracing for much of this year, the brunette towered in white stiletto heels, ones matching the crisp white shade of her collared dress. Meanwhile, a bow detail on the dress’ waist matched the white hair bow Zendaya wore to accessorize her ponytail braid.
Keeping glam with a full face of makeup as she sported a bold red lip, Zendaya made instant headlines for her look and, it would seem, sparked some worry as a result.
Told She’s ‘Way Too Thin’ By Worried Fans
While the most-liked reply to The Daily Mail called Zendaya “movie star beautiful,” other comments noted the actress’ lithe physique.
“The dress is beautiful but she is way too thin” was a comment gaining over 400 upvotes. Echoing the thought, another fan replied: “She’s gorgeous but she is so so thin, wow.” Defending the A-lister and suggesting that there might be nothing wrong, another jumped in to state: “Some people are naturally thin. Does not mean they are not healthy.”
“Beautiful but very slim” was yet another weight-related comment.
Zendaya has never suggested that she suffers from an eating disorder. In fact, the actress makes a huge deal on social media over her favorite ice cream snack. In a Vanity Fair video posted last year, the actress told fans that she adores the frozen treat, and she even allowed the cameras to film her eating it with her teeth.
Zendaya’s Challengers press calls were packed with tennis-themed outfits, many of which were custom-made. The leggy beauty rocked designers including Vivienne Westwood, Ralph Lauren, and Loewe to promote her 2024 movie.
