FromSoftware’s next title, Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, finally got an extended gameplay reveal on Bandai Namco’s YouTube channel. The video shows over 10 minutes of in-game footage, and it’s just as good as fans expected. So far, the only footage we got of the game was either CGI or just small snippets of gameplay. But that all changes with today’s video that shows Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon in action in a 10-minute-long vertical slice.
Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon Gameplay Reveal Details
The gameplay video gives a detailed introduction of what the main story will hold, along with some cutscenes that explain the narrative, the core mechanics, and much more. For anyone who thought the boss fights in this game might not match the fantasy settings from Dark Souls or Elden Ring, this video will allay your fears. Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon seems just as dire for the general health of console controllers as FromSoftware’s previous titles.
The gameplay of Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon starts almost right away. It shows that this game’s combat will seem quite unfamiliar to players who are only experienced with FromSoftware’s modern titles. The game is fast-paced, with a lot of movement options and verticality. Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon provides more options in terms of combat as well; while the close quarter’s hack and slash gameplay is still there, the long-range options add a lot of variety to enemy encounters and will likely offer an even more impressive range of enemy types.
This gameplay video of Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon still tells us nothing about the game’s online components. According to FromSoftware, the multiplayer component will complement the main game. But we’ll hopefully know much soon as the mech combat title’s release date approaches.
Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon will come out on August 25 on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4,
