2K Games has recently launched a new website called “Advent”, following a pair of tweets. The game appears to be within the realm of science fiction, with the tweet stating, “Luxury for the privileged few is outdated. This is the future of urban living.” #ADVENT Although 2k has not officially stated that this is their new game, we know 2K is gearing up to announce a new AAA title in the near future.
Both tweets illustrate what appears to be a prospering city, with the message “Move in today and start living in the world of tomorrow!” However, the second image contrasts the initial message, stating, “Move in today and fear the world of tomorrow!”, alluding to the potential of a dystopian setting for the game.

On the official Advent official website, the headline for the game reads, “The ADVENT Administration strives to create a world free from hunger, pain, sickness, and war. We believe in a global community of happy and comfortable citizens”. The page looks similar to an actual community website, with mission statements, testimonials from customers and images of the community. Nevertheless, the big brother element comes back into play, with messages, “The Advent is lying to you,”, “We are still watching” and “Propagate”.
It also seems like the game will be delving into gene therapy, reading, “Our citizens no longer fear the diseases and disabilities that plagued past generations. A complex and cutting edge system of DNA splicing has led to cures not only for the viruses and infections that for millennia haunted us, but for mental illnesses as well. Come discover an Illness free world with us.”
There’s plenty more on the site, including a brochure that’s available as a pdf download. It will be interesting to see the new tweets from 2k as news about Advent comes to fruition.
