Superhot Release Date Announced

Superhot, the stylistic, time-based first person shooter finally has a release date.

The game will make its way to digital stores for PC, Mac and Linux on February 25, and sometime in March for Xbox One. The game made waves when it was first announced on Kickstarter in 2014. It quickly reached its funding goal and the team has been hard at work since then.

Superhot will be unlike any shooter you’ve ever played.

Superhot has a very interesting hook: time only moves when you do. This means that players can stop bullets in midair by simply standing still and then quickly dashing out of their way. Or stopping time and then lining up the perfect shot, getting into cover or setting up bloody multi kills.

Superhot’s art style is simplistic and visually stimulating. It’s a nice change from the grim and gritty aesthetic shooters opt for these days. The enemies are simple, polygonal shapes that jaunt through levels, constantly firing at players and dying in an explosion of pixels and red shards. The gameplay has shown off action that looks like it was taken straight out of a John Wu movie. Stopping time, throwing a gun to stun an enemy and then taking advantage of this to rush up and fell them.
