There are a total of 12 classes that you can choose from in Enshrouded. These 12 are each different in their own right with a skill tree that shows their strength. Unlike other games, you aren’t stuck leveling up a specific class. You can mix and match where your skill points go, making for some incredible builds. Some classes are much better than others either by themselves or mixed with other class skills. We listed out the five best classes in Enshrouded according to rank.

5. Tank

Being a Tank is awesome for situations when you’re up against a lot of enemies. Realistically, that’s going to happen a lot in Enshrouded. You’ll earn abilities that allow you to take less damage when there are more enemies around you, as well as increase the damage that your armor can take. When mixed with the skills from the Battlemage class, you’re practically indestructble. Their shared skills focus a lot on taking damage or killing enemies in exchange for mana. As a result, mixed with the Battlemage class that we also have on this list, you can pump yourself up with magic power and strength.

4. Battlemage

The Battlemage class is a lot of fun. You’re taking advantage of wands, which rely heavily on mana. Unlike the Wizard, you can’t choose to be specialized in a single kind of magic. Instead, you’re gaining a ton of spirit and intelligence to fuel other classes. Other classes within the mana-specialized classes also give you a lot of intelligence and spirit, but not the way the Battlemage does. It also relies heavily on mixing it with the Tank class to get abilities like Evasion Attack which lets you perform an evade attack that dashes towards the enemy and deals more weapon damage when you’re equipped with a melee weapon. Following the Tank class also makes you physically stronger, earning you mana for taking damage in battle.

3. Wizard

We absolutely love the Wizard class in Enshrouded. Since you aren’t held back by having to choose one specific skill line, you can learn them all. Within the skill tree, you can learn fire magic, electric magic, and ice magic. The fire tree is the only one that’s a bit different than the others. You can obtain Radiant Aura which gives one fire damage per intelligence per second for all Fell foes within ten meters. This entire class has a heavy reliance on spirit and intelligence attributes. Different enemies have different weaknesses, so we also think that pairing this with the Tank class gives you the best of both physical damage worlds.

2. Athlete

Athlete class skills dominate your strength and add stamina where it matters most. You can very quickly acquire the Jump Attack skill. It allows you to perform a jump attack which deals 50% more weapon damage in a small blast radius. Since it costs stamina appropriately to the weapon’s weight, having high stamina is great. By the end of the class skill tree, you’ll also have added constitution which adds 50 health per point.

1. Survivor

The Survivor class is probably our favorite in all of Enshrouded. It gives you all of the skills and stamina you need to survive out in Embervale. One of the unique skills in the Survivor class skill tree is attached to the Athlete class. Double Jump allows you to jump a second time when airborne. From the beginning of the game, we thought it was excellent for jumping off of high places and subsequently using your glider. It also helped when it came down to running away from enemies, which we did a lot of too. At the end of the day, getting things like extra food slots and more stamina helped travel the incredibly expansive world.
