Genshin Impact has many mechanics that might be daunting for some players, and one of those pertains to all the elemental reactions that are always vying to be the best. With the inclusion of new elements and characters, the meta changes constantly and makes room for some fun team compositions that can wreak havoc in seconds. So, whether you’re a new player or a veteran, knowing which elemental reactions to pursue is always great to face every challenge in the lands of Teyvat.
The 5 Best Elemental Reactions You Need to Try in Genshin Impact
After the addition of the Dendro element, many more reactions came into play, and while all of them serve a purpose, some just don’t stand out. With so many in the game, we’ve decided to list the five best reactions you need to set up in any of your teams. So, without further ado, let’s get this started.
5. Superconduct
Triggered by combining Cryo and Electro, this elemental reaction might seem underwhelming at first, but it packs a punch, or at least helps your characters pack a big punch. By triggering this reaction, you can reduce the Physical Resistance of all enemies, making way for some big damage output. You can improve this reaction even further by using the Thundering Fury artifact set. Some characters that shine with this mechanic are Eula, Raiden Shogun, Ganyu, and Razor. Even if it isn’t as flashy as other reactions or doesn’t provide crowd-control mechanics, it’s still fantastic and one any beginner should try.
4. Electro-Charged
To trigger this reaction, you need Hydro and Electro. Contrary to the above that reduces the Physical RES of enemies, this one is a plain DoT reaction. If you trigger it, enemies will lose health over time. It might sound simple, but it isn’t. In certain content like the Spiral Abyss, having an Electro-Charged team can do wonders as the DoT jumps to wet enemies. Having characters like Yae Miko, Yelan, Mona, and Lisa can electrify the battleground and wear small enemies down while you focus on the big ones. Besides, some characters like Razor and Raiden Shogun have talents that nullify the damage they receive from this reaction because, yes, most elemental reactions affect your team, too.
3. Frozen
It might be strange to include an elemental reaction that does no damage in Genshin Impact, but there’s a reason why we consider it one of the best. In many fights, enemies like the Abyss Wizards can be annoying. One way to stop them from moving around is by freezing them in place, which can be achieved by combining Hydro and Cryo. Also, most of the best compositions in the game have Anemo characters that pull everyone together and then a Frozen duo to keep them in place and defeat them in one fell swoop.
2. Quicken
The addition of the Dendro element was a game-changer, literally, that made way for some of the best elemental reactions in Genshin Impact. One of our favorites is Quicken, which you can get by using Electro and Dendro. This reaction increases damage for Dendro and Electro’s characters. After triggering the Quicken reaction, attacking an enemy with Dendro will trigger Spread, and attacking with Electro will trigger Aggravate. Both work equally by increasing the damage dealt to enemies. Characters like Alhaitham, Nahida, Kuki, and Beidou are perfect for Quicken teams.
1. Hyperbloom
While the base reaction is called Bloom and happens after combining Hydro with Dendro, we’d like to focus on Hyperbloom, which occurs after summoning a Core with Dendro and Hydro and then applying Electro. It sounds like a mouthful, but it is a great reaction. Essentially, this reaction creates a sprout that damages enemies and allies, with the latter receiving less damage. This reaction is one of the most fun to pull off and one of the most rewarding. You can make the battlefield look like a minefield and delete enemies in seconds. For this reaction, we recommend Raiden Shogun, Nahida, Alhaitham, Yelan, and Kuki.
