So far, Baldur’s Gate 3 has proven to be an amazingly well-crafted game. With a rich depth of content and superb RPG mechanics, playing Baldur’s Gate 3 feels like the quintessential D&D videogame experience. However, for all its impressive qualities, there are moments when it appears rough around the edges. Plenty of glitches and exploits lurk beneath Baldur’s Gate 3’s surface, waiting to be discovered. While many of these glitches are harmless, others create game-breaking experiences for players. Luckily, Larian Studios is quickly addressing these issues with hasty updates. That means many glitches players find will likely be patched out quickly, but not before they are recorded and compiled here!
Dummies Spawning in a Baldur’s Gate 3 Glitch Room
While glitches can be fun to see every now in again, experiencing one right at the start of Baldur’s Gate 3 can be frustrating. One Reddit user has experienced this exact issue, with admittedly comedic results. When starting the game, the player was transported to a mysterious room full of naked test dummies and the Dark Urges Dragonborn in the center of the room. Everything seems very confusing, with few textures and objects besides this loading. This led the user to conclude that this room may have been a testing room they accidentally accessed. The worst part of this was that they could not move from the room and were required to restart their playthrough.
Spying Raphael’s HP
Next, we have another example of finding glitched NPCs in Baldur’s Gate 3. This time, Reddit user i_straiten_my_tie discovered the NPC Raphael in a weird state. The user claims that many moving parts were happening simultaneously, including multiple cutscenes, which caused the NPC to spawn with his health bar shown. Interestingly enough, he is shown to have 666 health. This is especially fitting for the character, as he is part demon and is merely disguised as a human when encountered. In terms of the characters’ health in Act 1, fighting Raphael would be an impossible challenge.
MOO_GloryOfTheAbsolute
Up next, we have an interesting Baldur’s Gate 3 glitch that has spawned some funny theories. When looking at a book in Act 2, Reddit user hatfiem3 discovered something interesting. The book was completely blank, save for the text, “MOO_GloryOfTheAbsolute.” Originally, when seeing the phrase, it’s easy to pull the word “moo” out of it. This already makes the book silly enough, especially in the context of the book’s title, “Glory of The Absolute.” In a way, it spawns images of followers worshiping a cow or something along those lines. However, sadly. This phrase is most likely not about a bovine overlord. Another Reddit user states that “MOO” most likely stands for “media-oriented object.”
Naked Camp Glitch
Similar to the first glitch of this list, a player has discovered an exciting occurrence in Baldur’s Gate 3’s camp. This player found multiple nude character models spawn when resting in the camp. While these characters appeared nude in the cutscene, not during actual gameplay, they created an interesting image for players. Additionally, it seems like it isn’t exactly what causes this glitch, though some players have a few theories. The most popular appears to be caused by co-op players joining and leaving your game mid-combat. Overall, it seems like co-op in Baldur’s Gate 3 can cause some funny glitches.
Shadowheart Vanishing Due to Baldur’s Gate 3 Glitch
Arguably the funniest yet most frustrating glitch on this list involves the disappearance of Baldur’s Gate 3’s Shadowheart. Reddit user zachlikespudding shares their experience on the Nautilus Ship. After initiating dialogue with Shadowheart and a fight with an enemy simultaneously, Shadowheart vanished permanently from the game. Of course, to recover Shadowheart, players will need to go back on their saves, though this can be frustrating to need to fix. However, the concept of a character disappearing completely is funny from an outsider’s perspective.
This is doubly true when it’s caused by a co-op partner rushing headlong into battle. These are just a few of Baldur’s Gate 3’s hilariously wonderful glitches.
