Although Genshin Impact is an amazing game, the game still has its frustrating moments. Being a gacha game and an ARPG, Genshin Impact has many systems players need to juggle. Most of these systems are well managed and designed, making an enjoyable player experience. On the other hand, a few details can rub many the wrong way. Though these details are small, they can make for a subpar playing experience. Here are five of the most frustrating parts about Genshin Impact that many Travelers can relate to.
5. Being Short On Pity For a New 5-star
One of the most frustrating experiences in Genshin Impact is being short on pity for a new 5-star character. Oftentimes, F2P players in Genshin have to rely on the pity system to obtain the characters they want. In this system, every 90 Wishes will give a 50% chance to get the banner. After that, the next 90 will guarantee the banner character. Of course, when not buying the resources, F2P players will need to put in quite a bit of work to grind for these 180 Wishes.
This isn’t impossible, however. One of the most frustrating things we have experienced in Genshin is being just short of the 90 Wishes we need to reach pity. Many players can relate to the experience of still desperately Wishing, despite being short of pity and still not getting the character.
4. Strange Zone Layouts Are Frustrating When Exploring Genshin Impact’s World
Another frustrating part of Genshin Impact is the strange layouts that some of the regions have. Teyvat is a world that encourages exploration and discovery. With the open-world landscapes at the player’s fingertips, one of the most fun things is walking around and seeing what the environment has to offer. However, some zones, especially those in the Sumeru desert areas, have some layouts that aren’t conducive to exploring.
With many tunnels, underground areas, and walled-off sections, trying to walk around and enjoy these zones is frustrating. Trying to find a new undiscovered location and navigating is very difficult. While this may not be a bad thing to some, it can be particularly frustrating, especially compared to the previous regions.
3. Grinding Some Character Ascension Materials
The next frustrating part of Genshin Impact is farming some Character Ascension Materials. Every character requires some collectible that is found somewhere in Teyvat to ascend. Some of these resources spawn in nice locations close together and are extremely easy to farm. For example, Cecilia for ascending Venti is easy to find and collect.
On the other hand, other resources spawn in odd locations very far apart. Some of the most frustrating resources to grind include the Onikabuto and the Rukkhashava Mushroom. Both of these resources spawn on the ground but blend into the background easily. Farming these two resources was one of our most frustrating experiences in Genshin Impact.
2. Fighting Genshin Impact’s Fatui Without The Right Element Can Make A Frustrating Fight
Although this may sound oddly specific, one of the most frustrating parts of Genshin Impact is fighting Fatui Skirmishers without the proper element. Each of these variants of the Fatui Skirmisher can create an elemental shield. This shield is extremely resilient to everything except for one specific element. For example, a Cryogunner Legionnaire can make a Cryo shield that is only weak to Pyro.
With only four members to a party, players are bound to be missing at least one element when fighting these enemies. For instance, with a Mono-Geo party, fights with these enemies can last a long time. The best technique to beat them is to defeat them before they make their shield. However, if this is impossible, you are in for a frustrating fight.
1. Grinding For Artifacts
Finally, the most frustrating part of Genshin Impact is grinding for Artifacts. Many players want to gain the best Artifacts to make their characters as strong as possible. However, trying to get the right stats for each Artifact for each Genshin Impact character can feel impossible at times.
Any player looking to get the best stats will need to not only get the best primary stat for three Artifacts but also must get the four best secondary stats as well. With each Domain only giving one or two of the Artifacts, this is an extremely difficult challenge. What makes it worse is that each Domain offers two Artifact sets, meaning that players may not even get a chance at the perfect Artifact every run.
