One of the most interesting aspects of any game is the glitches that can absolutely break the game. Recently, Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom speedrunners have been hard at work trying to discover every useful glitch and push the game and their speedruns to their limits. Besides the speedrunning uses, however, glitches like this can make an easier and more entertaining experience playing Tears of the Kingdom for casual players as well. From item duplication to launching Link over large distances, here are some Tears of the Kingdom glitches to try out before they get patched out of the game.
5. Item Duplication Glitch
So far, many ways of item duplication have been found while playing Tears of the Kingdom. Those looking to get some extra Rupees should check out these glitches, as they can often repeatedly sell the items to increase their spending money. Any player looking to try a glitch like this should keep up with some of the best methods on Reddit or another social media site, as glitches like this are often patched out quickly. Although it can seem a little cheap, this kind of Tears of the Kingdom glitch will make the entire game experience a lot smoother and cut down on grinding.
4. Fuse Entanglement
One of the more interesting glitches currently in the game has Link fusing weapons with his shield while holding them at the same time. To perform this glitch in Tears of the Kingdom, Link will need to perform some inputs to attach an object to the shield while picking it up and entering a menu all at the same time. This will confuse the game into thinking that the item is still attached to the shield and in Link’s inventory at the same time. From here, Tears of the Kingdom players can duplicate items or get unlimited bounces on an invisible spring shield. For this Tears of the Kingdom glitch and a few others, the YouTuber SmallAnt does a great job detailing how to perform them and how they work.
3. Recall Launching
Next, a Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom glitch compilation isn’t complete without a glitch that launches Link through the air at incredible speeds. Attaching a thrown object to a platform and then recalling it will cause the platform to shake. If Link is on top of it when it does, he will be launched at incredible speeds through the air. So far, players have been able to send themselves ridiculously high above the world. This Tears of the Kingdom trick also seems like it will have some great applications in speedrunning as well, making it one of the best to break the game with.
2. Autobuild Cancelling
If players would rather fly in style, this Tears of the Kingdom glitch is a much better choice than Recall Launching. By placing a device in front of two NPCs at Riverside Stable and triggering a cutscene with them while standing on it, the Zonai Device should vanish mid-cutscene. Now, when Link finishes the cutscene, the game no longer considers that device to be an object in the game, yet Link can still attach other devices to it. By attaching something like a rocket to it and standing on it, Link can then grab the rocket and lift the entire device in the air. From here, Link will be able to travel in style by lifting himself high into the air, traveling at decently high speeds. Once speedrunners learn to set this glitch up and more locations, it is going to absolutely break Tears of the Kingdom’s speedruns.
1. Arrow Smuggling
For players who want to see Link fly through the air should try out this Tears of the Kingdom glitch. If Link drops his equipped bow right as he is shocked by lightning, he will store an arrow in his hand. By doing this, Link can now use the arrow to cancel any action he is performing, including a jump attack. By canceling a jump attack, Link can infinitely jump attack, causing him to gain an infinite amount of height. Overall, this glitch seems decently difficult to perform, though once the arrow is smuggled into Link’s hand, players will have an easy time flying over the Kingdom of Hyrule.
