Wuthering is the newest gacha on the market, and like any new game, we must familiarize ourselves with its mechanics. If you are new to Wuthering Waves but need to learn how to improve or make your progress faster, these are the necessary tips that will make you the best Rover. Don’t let the tide of excitement carry you down the stream of killing your resources or spending your money to have as many characters as possible.
Union Level
Raising your Union Level is one of the best ways to get materials and other valuable rewards. The best ways to increase your level quickly are:
- Main quests: You can progress through the story while receiving Union EXP with each mission you complete.
- Data Bank: Gain more EXP by capturing Echoes and leveling up the Data Bank. It is like completing the Pokedex; each Echo has four variants. Be sure to capture them all.
- Cooking: This system also has several levels to improve; every time you level up, you get more rewards.
- Dailies: These are the Daily Commissions.
Destroy Everything in Your Path
Challenge the bosses you encounter to get materials, but also take advantage of your time exploring to defeat other enemies. However, the most important thing is to get the materials to upgrade Resonators and Weapons. Don’t just hunt for monsters, but also collect plants, wildlife, or minerals. This way, when you want to upgrade a character or weapon, you won’t waste time looking for the materials required.
Use Your Energy Wisely
Wuthering Waves has an item called Waveplates, like the Genshin Impact’s Resin. They help farm some materials to fight bosses. If it’s your first day playing, the best thing to do is to get to the point where you can spend it. Like resin, Waveplates regenerate over time at a rate of 1 waveplate every 6 minutes. If you are F2P, you don’t have to use materials like Atrites to Refresh your Waveplates; play once or twice daily to use them.
A Slow Pacing
We know that Wuthering Waves brings a lot of fun, flashy content, and valuable shiny rewards. Some players enjoy rushing this content to get these rewards, pulls and complete 100% exploration in the shortest time possible. However, this only leaves players without content and not enjoying the game. Also, Wuthering Waves is a game limited by the number of Waveplates to manage people’s playtime or encourage them to spend money. The same goes for upgrading characters; don’t spend everything on getting everyone to the maximum level on the first day.
Sharpen Your Combat Skills
You don’t need 5-star characters or weapons to have a good team. With the starting characters, you have a great option to face the enemies, and the 4-star weapons are on par with the best. Like other games of this style, there are rotations and characters with better synergy. However, you must know well how to use the skills of the Resonators, more specifically, the Intro and Outro Skills. Some units provide bonuses, energy recharge, or other improvements when changing characters. Also, the best combat tactics are dodging, parrying, and using the Forte skill.
Catch ‘Em All
Most of us gacha gamers are used to delving into instances to farm for Artifacts, Relic, or whatever the game wants to call them. In Wuthering Waves, you obtain these items by facing enemies and capturing them. Initially, the capture rate will be abysmal. You’ll need to fight the same foe repeatedly, capture them repeatedly, and then increase your chances of getting rare Echoes.
While grindy, we recommend spending most of your playtime in the wilds looking for these enemies. You can pinpoint the location of the ones you’ve encountered by heading to your Data Bank and enabling the tracking function. While you can also head to the dedicated dungeon to obtain them, some good old Echo hunting in the open world is also a good idea.
These tips will help you progress fast, especially in the early game, while completing the first acts in Wuthering Waves. For mid-game, you should start capturing Echos as you level up so that when you reach level 40 or so, you can create strong builds to face the more significant challenges, such as the Tower of Adversity. Remember to enjoy the content as new updates come, but it is not a race.
