New Xbox All Access Allows Expedited Update To Project Scarlett

Xbox All Access is coming back next month. It’s bringing a heck of an offer along with it.

Microsoft announced on Monday the console leasing program it offered briefly last year is making a triumphant return to the US on November 18. When it arrives, a road map for users who want an Xbox One X this year and a Project Scarlett when it launches next year is coming with it.

Xbox All Access allows users to pay nothing upfront for a new console. Over a two year period, they pay a monthly fee until their Xbox is paid off. The fee depends on what model they are “leasing”.

The One X costs $30.99 per month but comes packed with two years of Game Pass Ultimate. Not only does that mean you’re really only paying about $13 a month for the console but Ultimate comes packed with enough games to keep you very busy over the next few years.

Should you go with the One S ($22.99 a month), or One S All Digital ($19.99 a month), Microsoft says you’ll be saving over $100 compared to buying the consoles and paying for two years of Game Pass Ultimate.

Both the One S bundles also come with the ability to upgrade after the equivalent of 18 months of payments. Where the Xbox All Access package for the One X comes in big is how quickly users can upgrade to Project Scarlett.

After the program launches in November, users will have about a month to pounce on the highest tier bundle. Should they do so, they’ll be able to upgrade to Scarlett in just 12 months, when it launches during the next Holiday season.

Considering Halo: Infinite is launching alongside Scarlett, this is a big-time offer. There is one drawback. Because Microsoft is allowing users to finance a new console, they need to qualify through a credit check.

Still, Xbox All Access seems like a great way to make inroads against the PS5. Both next-gen consoles are expected during the Holiday season, 2020.
