It has just been announced via the official twitter for the Mafia games, in a tweet you can see below, that a new Mafia Trilogy is in the works.ย ย So far there is little known about the exact details of this trilogy, and we will have to wait until May 19th to hear more. But we can make some predictions that Mafia Trilogy will launch on current-gen consoles as well as next-gen. However, let us go over the brief history of how far the Mafia games have come since their initial inspection back 2002 with the first game.ย

A Tommy Gun Painting Simulator Mafia Series That Spans 15 Yearsย
Since 2002 with the launch of the first game, the Mafia games have always been known for their unique story and engaging gameplay. In the first game, players saw the character Tommy Angelo’s sudden change from a lowly taxi driver to a feared member of the Costa Nostra. Then later players also witnessed his fall from grace into becoming a man his former friends hate and want dead.
Later in the summer of 2010 in Mafia II, we saw the rise of Vito Scaletta into a made man of the mafia from a low-level petty crook that was forced to fight in World War 2 after a failed robbery. Also, this game famously had the main character from the first game show up for a guest appearance that still tugs at my heartstrings to this day.
Next, the series experimented with elements of advance and gritty storytelling, while also addressing sensitive issues during the 1960s such as racism in 2016’sย Mafia III. That game also had a unique almost documentary feel at the start ofย Mafia IIIย and featured an African American Vietnam veteran in the role of the protagonist. In that game, you play as Lincoln Clay who is on a journey of revenge on the Italian mob. However, as my good and close friend, Uncle Confucius used to like to say: “Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves”.
