The four-hour Zack Snyder cut of Justice League is set to bring a lot of change from the original 2017 movie. As reshoots take place, the latest big piece of news sees Jared Leto’ reprise his role as the Clown Prince of Crime, the Joker, for this cut of the movie, despite not appearing in the original version. Leto last appeared in the DC Extended Universe in 2016’s Suicide Squad, another movie that fans considered sub-par, and Joker didn’t fare too well with fans either. Guardians of the Galaxy mastermind James Gunn is currently working on The Suicide Squad, a reboot/sequel. Let’s hope his take turns out better.

It’s fair to say that Jared Leto’s time as Joker in the DCEU has not been too memorable. With his inclusion in Zack Snyder’s Justice League though, maybe his luck will change. According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, Leto has joined in reshoots for the movie. Also involved in said reshoots include Ben Affleck (Batman), Ray Fisher (Cyborg), and Amber Heard (Mera). Others might be involved, but there is no confirmation as of yet.

In the original movie, Snyder had to withdraw from the project due to the tragic death of his daughter. As a result, Warner. Bros moved to bring in Joss Whedon, director of The Avengers (2012), to helm the project. However, when the movie was released, fans were disappointed with many of Whedon’s creative choices, which started an internet movement to create a Zack Snyder cut of Justice League. Of course, earlier this year it was announced that Snyder had been given the chance to bring his true vision to our screens. Apparently, that includes Jared Leto’s Joker!

Naturally, the inclusion of Leto raises questions. How much will the movie change? How big of a role will Joker play? Are there other characters that could be included? As always, we’ll simply have to wait and see how things play out.

Justice League: The Snyder Cut is set to premiere as a four-part movie on HBO Max next year. What do you think of Leto’s inclusion? Let me know!
