The critically nominated amusement park builder is finally making its way to consoles. Stemming from the rollercoaster tycoon craze that swept the early 2000’s, Planet Coaster seeks to upgrade that experience to the modern era. Released just over 4 years ago for PC, the rerelease of the title comes with some new additions specifically for console users. Updated and optimized controls for consoles aid the building experience immensely thanks to intuitive radial menus. After months of waiting, Frontier Games has finally brought the park building fun to both Xbox and Playstation owners.

The new Planet Coaster console edition also adds new items that can be crafted from blueprints. Early adopters can take advantage of the newest downloadable content pack that allows you to include Oswald’s Magnificent Machine ride into your park. The offer lasts until November 24th, so be sure to pick it up early if you want a leg up on the park building competition. Xbox players will also be able to use their own Xbox Game Pass subscription to play the title. To go with all this, Frontier Games has included a new Frontier workshop to allow you to share your creations with the player base. Being able to download and subscribe to anybody’s builds encourages creativity to build weirder and better rollercoasters than before in Planet Coaster.

Planet Coaster is also offering a next-gen upgrade support so players can build their best on the newest platform. For anything bought or shared through the Frontier workshop will also transfer to the new system. The newest edition to the park building simulator genre has found its way to consoles right on time with Xbox Series X launching today and PS5 later this week. For the base game at only $49.99, there’s never been a better time to ride into the world of rollercoaster building.
