The news for today is that the first-person shooter game, The Anacrusis, has achieved 200k players reached during its first week. Stray Bombay, the developer behind the first-person shooter game, revealed the figure today, which highlights the little game’s popularity already. The new co-op shooter, which is currently available on Early Access on PC and can also be accessed on Xbox’s Game Pass, with the plan to release it fully towards the end of the year.
If you don’t know about The Anacrusis game, then listen up. It is a four-player, co-op first-person shooter game set on a huge starship, stranded on the edge of deep space. You can team up with allies in an endlessly replayable fight against alien hordes where you must unlock weapons, different perks, and new ways to play that you can share with your team. It sounds kind of fun, doesn’t it?
What does the team say about the 200k milestone this week?
Co-founder of the studio, Chet Faliszek, had this to say in a recent statement about the 200k players reached in its first week,
“Seeing the community jump feet first into The Anacrusis during this first week has been fantastic. We’ve seen a huge surge in players from the Game Pass, with some glowing responses from the PC community as well. There is still lots of work to do, and this feedback will only help up us in our goal of refining this game and making it the best we can.”
This statement also came with another announcement about some upcoming fixes which will be implemented with an imminent patch. Some of the patches will include fixes to the Spanish localization and the in-game language selector, as well as some other fixes to the game’s performance on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
Communications director Will Smith (I know what you’re thinking, but no) also said,
“Everyone on the Stray Bombay team has a brilliant time watching The Anacrusis streams since their launch last week. We have enjoyed talking to fans, and we sometimes try and join in on the fun with them. We have decided to begin a bi-weekly highlight series that puts the fans into the spotlight so that everyone can see the best in-play moments with our new game”
That is a nice touch, and it sounds like they want to have a close relationship with their fans – every little bit helps. Keep an eye on this game, as its popularity increases after this 200k milestone, and more updates will be forthcoming.
