This weekend, “Jackass-es” Johnny Knoxville and gang triumphed at the box office after Paramount’s Jackass Forever came out on Friday. Jackass Forever is in theaters exclusively and is the film franchise’s fourth main installment. The Jackass movies always give a good laugh of mindless humor, as Knoxville and friends risk their health and sanity for fun at their own expense and for our pleasure. While Paramount’s comedy Jackass Forever is cracking people up, the Moonfall movie has been bombing.
Roland Emmerich’s PG-13 Sci-Fi/Action starring Halle Berry of X-Men and Patrick Wilson of The Conjuring saga has a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 39%. One of the Moonfall movie taglines reads, “In 2022, Humanity will face the dark side of the Moon.” Let’s face it, as a whole; society has faced so much over the past few years; it makes sense why many of us wouldn’t want to worry ourselves about the moon trying to kill us. We already have enough to worry about. On the other hand, the newest installment of Jackass has the crew keeping it “fresh and funny,” doing more pranks and slapstick humor that never gets old. Paramount’s Jackass Forever is the first film in weeks to take back the top spot at the box office after the much-appraised release of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The Jackass Forever movie comes with a slew of guest stars and cameos jam-packed with daredevil action as it debuted February 4th and hit the box office much higher than expected. It’s reported that Johnny Knoxville’s last Jackass movie gained $23.5 million from 3,604 North American locations just since its debut alone. With an 85% on Rotten Tomatoes and the cost to make Paramount’s Jackass Forever at $10 million, it looks like the boys of Jackass are leaving on a high note.
