Netflix has released the first trailer for The Umbrella Academy season 3. Variety explains that this season will feature the superpowered Hargreeves siblings battling the rival Sparrow Academy that took their place during a time-traveling mission. The Sparrow Academy cast was announced in January 2021, and this trailer gives us the first look at them in action. We’re also getting a glimpse of wild fight secrets, mysterious powers from the Sparrow Academy, and a “kugelblitz” created by a time paradox that threatens the entire universe. That’s right! Once again, the Umbrella Academy team is fighting off the threat of an apocalyptic time paradox, and they have new rivals making things harder.

What ‘The Umbrella Academy’ Has in Store for Season 3
Entertainment Weekly expands on the trailer for The Umbrella Academy season 3 a bit more. During their trip to 1960s Dallas in season 2, they encountered their patriarch Sir Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore). Upon their return, they discovered that he found the meeting disappointing and opted to adopt the members of the Sparrow Academy rather than the Umbrellas. The presence of both the Umbrellas and the Sparrows has created a paradox leading to the black hole known as the kugelblitz. But while Aidan Gallagher’s Number Five tries to explain this, his siblings are more concerned with whether they should kill or sleep with their counterparts. Number Five’s advice is, “Avoid them!” We also see that their brother Ben (Justin H. Min) has changed due to the time paradox, and he is much less kind than they remember.
A Big Character Change in Season 3
Along with all of this wildness, we will see a major change with Vanya Hargeeves (Elliot Page). In 2020, Page came out as transgender. The character Page portrays will undergo the same change this season, with the name being charged from Vanya to Viktor.
Fans have been waiting for more of the series since season 2 came out in August 2020. The wait will be over soon when The Umbrella Academy season 3 premieres on Netflix on June 22nd.
