Jeff Provenzano, a professional skydiver, was given a Nvidia Shield Android to play as he jumped out of an airplane. The publicity stunt, emphasis on a stunt, is part of the Nvidia Shield’s new campaign to, you guessed it, sell their product. Provenzano’s setup included a couch, which he sat on, a lamp, coffee table, and some magazines, everything a gamer could ask for in a living room.

If there was any remaining doubt, Provenzano himself commented on the feat, saying, “This is by far my favorite commercial I have ever been involved in. From the stunts to the final product.” Sounds great, but by product, does he mean the finished commercial or the NVidia Shield Android?

The Shield Android TV is available now for $199.99 and includes, for a supposedly limited time, a free remote that would ordinarily cost $49.99. No word as of yet on a Black Friday or Cyber Monday bargain, and the product itself was released back in May. Whatever the case, the commercial was certainly an effective attention-getter.
