After a very long wait, many fans (including myself) felt drifted away from the world of Stranger Things. Even with Stranger Things S4 coming around the bend, the show had been gone for so long that many weren’t excited. That is until May 27th, many fans alike turned on Netflix and couldn’t help but see what our friends from Hawkins were up to in their new season. Immediately being submerged back into the crazy world of Stranger Things, fans were awed by Season 4’s Volume One after an almost three-year wait for one of Netflix’s most groundbreaking series. Fans immediately fell right back in love with the series, as if no time had passed. With that being said, with many records broken and hours viewed, Stranger Things Season 4 has taken the spot as the third most-watched TV season of an English Language Title on Netflix! That’s big news for the sci-fi series, which is set to keep seeing higher and higher numbers for weeks to come and might even hit number one with Volume Two just a few weeks away! For the weeks to come until Volume Two, the title of Stranger Things anthem for the season, Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God) by Kate Bush (which seems to have gotten huge in the past week on music streamers everywhere), definitely mirrors how well the season is doing. Thanks, Max.

Season 4 Volume One of Stranger Things is the first season of the popular Duffer Brothers 1980s sci-fi series to be split into two parts. If the stats say anything, it’s pretty impressive what Stranger Things has pulled off since its long break. Previously held by Season 2 of Bridgerton, Stranger Things Season 4 Volume One broke the record for the biggest-ever premiere weekend of an English-language series and was viewed for 287 million hours globally within its first three days of release. According to Netflix’s Global Top 10 Chart, all four seasons of Stranger Things made it back into Netflix’s Top 5 titles for the week of May 23-29. As of today, June 7th, 2022, Stranger Things S4 V1 has been viewed with an astounding total of 335,010,000 watch hours and is currently in the top 10 in TV in 93 countries on Netflix, another record-breaker for the series.

Stranger Things S4 Netflix Premiere

Stranger Things Season 4 Premiere Beats Out Obi-Wan Kenobi

The long-awaited premiere of Stranger Things Season 4 on Netflix beat out the other highly anticipated series Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney Plus. The newest season of Stranger Things has been set up to release in two volumes. Volume One came out on May 27th, 2022, while Volume Two is set to release on Netflix next month on July 1st. Stranger Things S4 V1 showed up with seven episodes, each about an hour-long,  a lot of Stranger Things to catch up on after waiting 34 months. Meanwhile, that same day, Disney+ released the highly-anticipated series from the Star Wars universe, Obi-Wan Kenobi, which follows Obi-Wan between the end of the prequel films and the beginning of the original films.

Even though both shows were anxiously awaited, Stranger Things Season 4 premiere beat out Obi-Wan Kenobi with 5.1 billion minutes of U.S. streaming in its first three days since airing, according to the Nielsen Ratings. Obi-Wan’s premiere was the biggest one ever for the newer streaming service Disney + and only gained about 1 billion viewing minutes. But contrary to Stranger Things Volume One (which was an episode bunch release), the limited series Obi-Wan only released two episodes on May 27th, with one new episode released each week after on Disney Plus.

Are you a fan of Stranger Things on Netflix? Have you tuned in to the streaming service to watch Volume One of Season 4? If so, what did you think?
